Sounds like the Magnatron or the HV Cap or diode is failed. Process of will show you which one. Very dangerous area to work in, not for the untrained. Eric

You either have a bad magnetron tube (5 or 10 year parts warranty item through GE Factory Service 1-800-432-2737 or www.geappliances.com) or a shorted high voltage rectifier. I think the light being out is a secondary problem.

ARE THE LIGHTS WORKING WHEN YOU OPEN THE DOOR?
DO THE CLOCK WORK? IF YES YOU MAY HAVE A BAD
TRANSFORMER,DO THE LIGHTS GO WAY DOWN WHEN YOU
HIT THE START BUTTON? YOU ALSO MAY HAVE A BAD CAP.
(DO NOT FOOL AROUND IN THIS PART OF THE OVEN)!!!!
BECAUSE MOST TRANSFORMERS PUT OUT ABOUT 2200VAC.
