Question about Insignia NS-DV2G MP3 Player

1 Answer

I made the mistake of following the advise to delete my digital files to make more room. Now my iriver Clix still tells me there is no room left to download but none of my music shows up on it. There are over 100 devicon.fil files listed when I look on My Computer at the files on my Clix. I read somewhere that I need to reformat it but I don't know how. Please help. Thanks.

Hi there,

First of all take a backup of your player and then format it.....
all the memory error goes by formatting the player ......

Post further comments for more information...

Good Luck!!

Thanks

I tried to format the iriver clix 2GB but now in setting i can see 0MByte .. Where is the memory gone :( I cannot copy anything as it is giving no available memory

if you just formatted (you deleted everything)...........for future references when formatting you must save the device software to a flash / hard drive. This is what makes the device tick.... IF by chance you know anybody with this device other than you, you can copy their software......... (Iriver global only have firmware)...... and the only other suggestion is to use it as a external hard drive..... :(

My music won't delete

Deleting Files,Pictures,etc from MP3 Player
Hook up your mp3 player to your computer Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer" When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there. Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible. Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete" Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want. Be careful and do not delete files needed to operate your MP3 player. Good Luck, I hope this helps Please rate me, Thank You

Formatting

You should try to upload the newest firmware for your device. Simply go to irivers site, look under Iriver Clix Generation 1 support (I'm guessing you have the generation one... if not, just click generation two). Simple as that!

Iriver clix - dowloading music from laptop to iriver clix

If you set up Windows Media Player to autosync to the Clix, then, when you delete songs from the computer (including the wallpaper jpeg), the files also get deleted off the clix. Make sure you have Manual Sync enabled in Windows Media Player (or, more accurately, disable auto-sync).

If auto-sync is already disabled, then you have a good, old-fashioned DB corruption. You can reload the firmware from iRiver's website:

Iriver Clix USB freeze

My screen also froze in the music menu, but when I connected to the PC, it was recognised and I could get into the files. Try resetting it by sticking a paper clip in the reset hole if you've not done it already. Mine's working fine so far....

IRIVER PLUS 3 MEDIA TRANSFER SCREEN

My understanding, as a new user, is that IRiver plus 3 only communicates with the player via UMS mode, which is not the default. Windows Explorer and Windows Media Player only communicate through MTP mode. If you change from MTP (the default) to UMS, it will reformat the player and delete all your files.

In other words, do not use iriver plus 3 unless that is the only software that you want to use. Boing back to MTP mode after a sync or download will then delete all THOSE files you just downloaded.

I just say NO to Plus 3.

Good luck.
