Re: Hyundai 42" Plasma TV

Hyundai hpt2450 tv switches on with standby button on remote or at tv and picture and sound ok but the little "tv" symbol at bottom of screen remains on locked in tv mode.It is not possible to change channels alter volume or change input source! The set does not respond to the remote or on board controls. It cannot be switched back to stanby with either the remote or the sets own standby button. It has to be switched off the the main on/off switch.
Any suggestions?

Re: Hyundai 42" Plasma TV

Try That is the manufacturers website. Good luck. Ask them if that set can played in the USA without a special power supply.

Samsung Plasma 42" TV - 2006

Hi, this is quite a common problem for plasma screens and LCD screens. The fluroscent backlight is more than likely faulty and would need replacing. The best thing to do is to take it to a service centre because there are no user servicable parts inside the plasma.

Connection for tv cable to hitachi 42" plasma Tv

there is no cable slot. the monitor is not a receiver. it has no tuner in it. it will need a signal from a tuner box. and that must be fed to the tv with an hdmi cable or a dvid cable for hd to work. see your manual for further information on cables. see your cable supplier for information on hd boxes available in your area. if you do not buy hd service, you will not get an hd signal. so you will see little difference from a non hd device. your dvd player may have hd capabilities, but will also need the same cable to deliver true hd signal.
the good news is that its fixable by using the right equipment.
good luck

Hyundai 42 inch plasma tv

Mine's out, too. Red Horizontal bars Left and Right, picture goes in and out(meaning fuzzy-no picture) on Left half and the TV tuner is gone, I can play DVD with half of a screen most of the time, occasionally the whole screen.

I should have returned my "returnable model" three years ago when I noticed Wal-Mart was NOT accepting returns when purchased after a certain date (I had purchased just before that date) Big, Big, OOPS!!

Repair estimate starts at $800, not guaranteed, and that does NOT include repairing the TV tuner. Ouch, Ouch, Ouch.

I see Hyundai stopped selling these units... anyone in the Chicago area that wants it for parts, let me know.
