Try deleting upper and lower filters of your optical drive. To do that, run regedit on start search. Then, follow this path: local machine, system, current control set, control, class, 4D36E965- E325 - 11CE - BFC1- 08002BE10318. then on the window under Name, look for upper and/or lower filters. right click on it and delete. restart pc. then you're good to go.
This is the inherent risk in updating firmware to optical drives.
Buy a new drive, power down the PC, install it and reboot the PC. If it is and IDE drive, or a SATA for that matter, before you buy a new drive make sure to disconnect and reconnect both ends of the cable prior to replacing it, just to be sure it wasn't an accidentally dislodged cable causing the problem.
Hi there. It sounds like the drivers could be bad or the lens has gone. This can be a common problem with vista loosing the CD/DVD drives. Do
this >>>>>> right click on "computer" and select
"manage" from the sub menu, then select "device manager" from the left
hand side, it will generate a list of devices, look down the list for
CD/DVD and click on the + icon next to it, from the drop down list
right click and uninstall, restart the PC and let vista re-install the
drivers for you, then try to use the CD/DVD. If this does not work please post back.
Okay. Restart your computer and after, go to device manager (right-click on My Computer/Properties/Material/Device manager). Do you see a CD-Rom/DVD drive?
DVD combo do not burn DVD's they can only read DVD read CD and burn CD to burn on a dvd you need a dvd writer. A DVD combo is a combination of just a DVD ROM and a CD-RW.
with some models (even of LG) you only get one drive DVD/CD-RW but in dome version it shows as two different drives DVD and CD-RW. consider this as partioning of a drive if its to be analogued to HDD (though its not partioning its just diffrent PROMS)
Hope you understand that there is nothing wrong with your combo its just that you are expecting it to be a DVD-RAM which it is not.
me too updated firmware and made one master and one slave still just blinking
