Make sure that you slide the oven door latch all of the way to the left after the clean cycle. If the latch is still positioned to the right in the locked position then the CLEAN light will continue to blink. If the door latch lever is positioned properly to the left and the CLEAN light is still flashing then you could have a problem with the latch mechanism or the electronic oven control. You can try to reset the electronic control board by unplugging the range for several minutes (or shutting off the breaker for the range outlet) to completely disconnect electrical power. If the CLEAN light still blinks after you restore electrical power then you will likely need to have the range serviced by a technician.

Self Cleaning light comes on and flashes when you turn on oven!

It sounds like you have a defective Oven control module. (TO8 Control) is the part that controls all oven functions including clean, clock, timed bake, ect. Item is easy to replace yourself.

Oven door locked in the OPEN position.

Hold the oven light switch (push in by hand) reselect clean let the cycle start for a couple minutes then push cancel. you have to continue to hold the light switch the hole time. If you have a light switch on the control panel it's not that one it's the one that the oven door engages. If this fails unplug the stove and plug unit back in 5 minutes later again hold the door switch (push in). good luck

Turn oven on Red self cleaning light comes on

You oven latch handle is either bent or the switch that attaches to the last assembly is bad. More likely you have a bent latch. You can get to it after unplugging the range, lifting the cooktop up (3 or 4 screws under the front lip) then the panel under the cooktop has to be removed to see the latch.

Blinking auto self clean light

There is probably a switch attached to the oven locking mechanism that need to be replaced. I had a similar problem on my GE electric oven and it worked for me.

Frigidare Self Clean Oven

I JUST CALLED FRIGIDAIRE AND GOT INSTRUCTIONS FOR SELF CLEANING:

1. TAKE OUT THE RACKS UNLESS YOU DON'T MIND THEM TARNISHING
2. TURN THE "SELECTOR" AND/OR "OVEN" DIALS TO THE LOCK (OR CLEAN) POSITION
3. PRESS THE "COOK TIME" BUTTON
4. SET THE CLOCK TO 2 OR 3 HOURS (I.E., "2:00" OR "3:00"), DEPENDING ON HOW DIRTY THE OVEN IS
5. PRESS "START" BUTTON
6. YOU WILL HEAR THE MOTORIZED LOCK MOVE INTO PLACE; WAIT ABOUT 30 SECONDS, THE DOOR SHOULD BE LOCKED AND CLEANING WILL BEGIN.
7. CLEANING WILL STOP AFTER THE TIME SELECTED (I.E., 2 / 3 HRS) AND THE DOOR SHOULD AUTOMATICALLY UNLOCK

Self clean light blinks, oven does not work

You were right. The locking mechanism switch somehow became jammed and the oven thought the door was locked, even though I could open the door. I didn't know if I was supposed to take the top off and moving the lever back and forth did not help. Finally I turned the oven on and just kind of jiggled the latch in the unlocked position. I kind of moved it back and forth furiously and the cleaning light stopped blinking and the oven light came on. I'm glad it is working now, but I will be manually cleaning my oven from now on! Thanks for your help.

Self clean light blinks when you turn oven on (oven does not work)

I had this same problem with mine (still posted under unsolved) This is the simpler model with the old turn style knob and the lever you slide over to lock the door for cleaning What I think (keep in mind I know little about ovens, more about cars) is that the switch that tells the oven the door is latched is staying engaged, and this is part of the lever mechanism. I cleaned and lubed this mechanism (obviously I would guess you want to use a food safe lubricant) and then moved the lever several times with the oven on so I could see if it turned on. After a few tries the cleaning light went off and the oven light came on. No, its not really a technical answer, all indications to me where that the problem was in the switch which is part of the latch mechanism. Good luck
