As far as i know you can only buy split systems either as a cooling only model or as a reverse cycle split which heats as well ( this one heats ) is that correct for this brand ? As i have never seen a heater only version & i used to sell many different branded split systems in stores for over 25 years & you could only buy basic system as cooling only models not heating ??
Split air cons come in both configurations and are mostly in the last few years with inverter systems
you can get cooling only or cooling and heating systems
some brands only have the cooling only on the smaller units ( 8000 btu units)
Just would like to clarify it basically says it in your answer but i have never seen a heating only model in any brand ever! would you agree that is the case ??

there are heat exchanging units on the market which uses a ac circuit to produce heating for a house but I am not aware that they also operate as an cooling unit. These units are not something I pursue because I cannot see the value in a unit that consumes power cooling to produce heat
with inverter cooling/ heating systems the gas direction is reversed so that the inside evaporator becomes the condenser that releases the heat generated by the gas being compressed back to a liquid and the condenser outside becomes the evaporator so the one unit uses the same power to do either heating or cooling
