1.You should have a modem you received from your ISP (Internet Service Provider). 2.Plug the Ethernet Cord Into the Internet port of your router. 3.If you have a desktop computer plug in the ethernet cord into one of 4 ports of the router. 4.Open you wireless connections and connect to the internet.
You should have a home modem from and ISP (Internet Service Provider) Also If you have a router you need to plug the Ethernet Cord (the cord that looks like a Giant phone line) into the internet port of the router, Now if the router is a wireless router and you want to use the internet wirelessly you need to open your wireless connections and you will see your router in the list. Simply double click the connection and it will automatically connect for you. If you do not have a wireless router and you want to connect more than one computer to the internet,Simply keep the ethernet cord plugged into the internet port on the router and you should have 4 other ports next to each other. Plug another ethernet cord into port 1 and plug into the back or side of computer. That's it. I hope this helped have a good day
1. Here is the user manual found at this site. ftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/wgr614v5_ref_manual.pdf save to hard drive >> desktop and read the "troubleshooting Tips " section page 3-8 check your router connections >> Ethernet cord to the LAN port in the back or the router to the computer. Ethernet cord to the WAN Port from the DSL port
Your ethernet cord goes into the spot that looks like it accepts a phone cord on back of console, then the other end goes to your modem or router.
The ports on back of console can sometimes be a tad tricky to get a connection if you are using a cord with the retention clip broken off. If this is the case, get a different ethernet cord. Also make sure you are putting the cord into the right port on your modem/router.
Fresh install of operating system/ updated drivers may help if all else fails try to get another ethernet card and stick it in there and see if it connects..
Yes, using a longer ethernet cord will work, but the PS3 has a bult-in WiFi card that can connect to any wireless router (you can buy a wireless router from a computer store like BestBuy).
If you are going to buy a wireless router, see if a wireless G-mimo or wireless N with signal boost is within your budget. Try looking through the network settings to see if you can connect through the wireless router.
Or just get a longer ethernet cord and run it directly to the PS3 from the router. Ethernet cords are the most reliable connection, granted you are on a good internet connection, they won't get interference from things like mobile phones, cordless phones, microwaves, TV's etc.
I have both the PS3 and Xbox 360 and the only thing I like better about the PS3 is the free online game play and Blue-Ray. Other than that, they're even. Good luck and have fun online! If you find me (wraith0127) say hi! Don't forget to rate. Thank you!
