Could be overheating. I know that there is the cylinder where the dust goes, but after that there is a foam filter between that and the actual engine. You will need to make sure its cleaned out.
im not 100% familiar with your model, but my one had alot of advertisement with it when i bought it telling me that every 6 months i needed to take this foam pad out, wash it out one way, then the other, then leave to dry for 24 hrs.
Remove the cylinder and work backwads towards the engine, there may even be a little sticker to tell you where it is, and how to remove it (seriously i have 2 stickers on my vacuum)

cut out switch on the motor needs replacing this overheats and cuts of the motor when the motor cools down it will start again you have to keep both filters and cyclone clean and free of dust or after replacement the same will happen again
