I would try replacing the regulator, not very expensive and easy to do, first. If that doesn't fix the problem, call the gas company and see if there is a flow problem to the line itself. I have worked on grills that were operating properly, but there just wasn't enough gas flow in the line for the grill.

Lights but does not heat up beyond 250degrees

If this is a propane grill, try replacing the regulator and hose going to the tank. When a regulator is failing, it allows gas to pass, but not enough to allow the grill to heat up properly. If this is an older grill. You can also check each burner for blocked gas ports. Just a few blocked ports in a burner can prevent the burner from lighting completely, or from moving from one side of the burner to the other.

Gas not getting to grill

Two things could be wrong. Tank valve could be bad, not allowing gas to flow. Or regulator could be bad not allowing gas to pass. Try taking the tank off and pushing a screwdriver into the end of it with the tank open, if gas doesn't come out tank valve is bad, valve has a spring in it to shut down if starts leaking. If tank valve is good regulator must be bad. I am leaning more towards to the tank valve.

Having problems lighting baby q grill. have followed all the procedures. I am on my second regulator. i believe I believe that I have inferior regulators.

If you are getting a strong gas flow when you turn on the valves, then it may not be the regulator. If you are using the ingintor to try and light the grill, it could be a bad ingnitor, a bad or loose wire going to the electrode, or the gap between the electrode and the metal maybe to large to create a spark. If you can light it with a match or a manual butane lighter, then it is probably not the regulator.

Genesis s310 stainless grill. Does not fully light.

Regulator is not bad, as I stated before new valves are designed to reduce gas flow if valve is opened to fast. This is so if grill catches on fire, the tank will shut itself off, thus propane will stop flowing causing fire to extinguish itself.

If your bottle is full , could be the regulator or spiders have webbed up the lines , check theses potential problems. Hopefully this helps you out.

Grill won't heat pass 300 degrees, burner and lines clear of obstruction, could the problem be in the regulator?

yes, these regulators are known to get stuck. Try kinking the hose until you her a click in the regulator, this will open the valve. It may close again shortly after you release the pressure but worth a try.
