Question about HP PAVILION ZD8000 SEREIS 100GB (4200 RPM)HARD DRIVE - 374730-001 100 GB
Somebody spilled water on my HP Pavilion zd8000 notebook keyboard. I din't notice until having the machine turned on repeatedly from power adaptor for a minute or so. I spent the following day taling the thing into pieces and drying it out with hot air.
Thje resulting condition is that the nachine is trying to book from network.I press F10 on startup to enter the Setup, and on the Tools screen it gives me the "No IDE device" message when I try to run the hard disk drive selftest. I tried this with HDD or Optical drive only; no difference.
My conclusion is that the most likely cause is dead IDE controller. I'm basically trying to find out now if the controller is intergrated on the motherboard.
Any hints on resolving the situation appreciated...
Any moisture on the motherboard
will destroy components if plugged in
even if yoru laptop is cold in your car , is ok
but when you bring it inside and plug in fast
condensation can burn out the tiny components, motherboard is bad
