Question about Lexmark Z1420 InkJet Photo Printer
i have just today purchased a new lexmark z1420 wireless printer. im running an imac with tiger OS and our home network is through an airport extreme router.
the wifi indicator on the printer is flashing amber after the setup, which according to the manual means there is an issue with its access to our home network. i then realised that i stuffed up the ssid when entering it in the intial setup however i cant figure out how to get back to that stage so as to fix the ssid and get this thing working!!
any help is greatly appreciated. cheers
I found out after alot of searching to perform a hard reset, put the printer into standby mode ie, flashing power button, hold it for two seconds and then release
the open the printer cover
then press and hold the power button for at least 30 seconds, try 40 if in doubt (yes your finger does become numb at this point)
Let go and wait 40 seconds, and it should then boot back to factory defaults so you can start again
If you do get it working wireless from a mac in infrastructure mode I would like to hear, because I have yet to manage this, connected and routed via a bt voyager 2110 wifi router.

Call Lexmark. They will replace it if it is within 1 year of purchase.

Yes exactly, what you have said is correct, log into the router setup page, check for the wireless settings, ssid and the security code details.. nad then search for the wirell network in the printer manually, yopu would find your ssid, connect to it with the key , you would get connected..
