Question about InFocus ScreenPlay 7205 Multimedia Projector
If the black bar has fuzzy rainbow edges, the light tunnel has collapsed and needs replacement. if the image has solid edges (to the pixel), there is a problem with the dmd chip. the tunnel is under $15 and can be replaced with some ease, but the dmd is the image chip and is quite pricy.

This is an apparernt recurring problem with many of these projectors. I would suggest calling In-Focus tech support and demand they fix this at no charge - remind them that you have friends with the same problem and it is unnacceptable to have customers go through this after spending thousands on a projector. Last year I had to pay $1500 for In-Focus to replace the chip. Now, a little over a year later it has happened again - with very low projector use! I think a threat of a class-action suit would motivate them.
