In powershot SD1000 you have option for SD memory card.
So you can remove the card and just keep it in the adapter given for it(optional).
Then place it in the card reader or in the card reader of the laptop which you can find some where on sides.
Then you can see memory card as a drive in my computer of the operating system. Just copy the files and place whereever you like.

After downloading photos to my laptop the playback screen does not function on the camera. The screen is fine while shooting but does not function in playback. Any solutions?

The memory card may not be storing your photos.
do you transfer photo direct from camera or use card reader?
If card reader the memory chip might not be fully seated back in camera ( not likely ) or you might have formatted the card incorrectly after transfer.
if direct from camera did you properly remove camera from computer? Remember, just removing device without ejecting device sometimes results in errors. Any device connected via cord to computer is using a USB port and on your task bar you should see indicator , right click select eject device.
if that might be the case reconnect camera then properly eject.

My memory card currently has approximately 6 files of photos on it. When I insert it into the computer, the files and photos are there. However, when I insert it into my camera, the screen says"no...

When you remove the card from the computer, do you remember to use the "safely remove hardware" function...if not, you run the risk of corrupting the card. My advice right now would be to re-insert the card into the computer and download all the pics. Then, format the card in the camera to return it to it's default state.

I recently got a new computer. Now I'm unable to upload my photo's. I don't remember if I received a disc with the camera or not?!? Can I download it for my computer so I can share photos?

You might want to consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

you can recover deleted photos from camera with camera recovery software
1. Remove the memory card from camera and connect SD card to computer with a card reader. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in My Computer.

4. Install and open the photo recovery program, select your memory drive, and click 'Start' button to start scanning process which will find your deleted photos.

After using my Finepix x700 for a couple of years to download photos onto my computer, for some reason I cannot now do so. Two weeks ago at a friends, I tried to connect her usb port to my camera to...

assuming your camera is in perfect condition. remember that cameras come up with its own driver. your camera attatched to your friend's computer analyses only as plug and play feature. Always use card reader even to your computer by removing your memory card and this make your camera even safer from virus. Remember that downloading pictures from camera requires high reserve power or else it may cause to stop downloading or may even cause to malfunction.

How do you get to the photo album???????

Connect the usb cable between the camera and the computer. Make sure the camer is off. After you connect the camera to the computer, then you can turn on the cameral. Go to My computer and you will see all the drives. Look for VTech 773. Double click on the drive and you will see a PHOTO folder, pictures will be there. Remember: if your using an SD card, then you will see that under removable drives. Your pictures could be there too.

Problem to see my photo

Many cameras simply will not display edited photos, or photos taken by a different camera. This is because the camera cannot be certain of the format and parameters of such "foreign" photos.
Remember, the camera is a device for taking photos, not for showing them off.
