Question about Computers & Internet
I recently upgraded to Internet Explorer 8 and have noticed significant slow-down when using the internet. Any ideas on what the problem might be? Is this a known problem with IE8?
I never had any problem on IE7. I've got a Dell Inspiron 6000 if that might make any difference.
IE8 runs slightly slower than IE7 due to the fact that it has more built-in security features and additional features. Also, some antivirus softwares and too much unused / accumulated data in the form of temporary internet files and cookies in your PC slow-down the browsing experience.
To clean up temporary internet files, click on the Tools button on the IE toolbar, select Internet Options from the menu which comes up. Then on the General page, under Browsing History section click on Delete button. Then you can select the items which you want to delete, then click on Delete> click on OK.
You can also try Google Chrome browser which is one of the fastest browser. Download link: http://www.google.com/chrome
Hope this solves your problem. Thanks.
