Question about Refrigerators
Inside the compressor , the motor is held by 3 or 4 springs . When 1 of those springs break (either from rust or time) the internal motor will bang the inside of the compressor . This does not mean the compressor will quit , only noisey when cycling off . Only way to stop the noise is to replace the compressor OR try shimming up one of the compressor mounting legs (will take trial and error to determine which leg will stop the banging ) . Always reinstall the rear cover even when checking .
