Re: cant start without numerous clicks no hp product...
Reinstall the drivers. Make sure you completely remove the old ones.
Look here for drivers: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?product=467980&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us
the printer is looking for something that is obvious not on your computer anymore :o)
Maybe it was accidently removed with CCleaner (or other utility) or when another program or printer was uninstalled. Have you changed/removed any programs lately? Hope this helps.

Step 1: Stop Windows Installer From Popping Up b> The older a computer gets, the more junk it accumulates. A great number of computers out there don't start up without a thousand things popping up demanding your attention. Windows Installer is one of the more notorious pop-up offenders for Microsoft users. Stopping these pop-ups can prove challenging, however, there is a way.
On your computer's desktop, click on the "Start" tab, typically located on the bottom left of the screen (in Vista it may be the Windows symbol rather than the word "Start"). Now locate and click the program titled "Run." Vista users can locate this program by typing "run" in the search box at the bottom of the "Start" menu. Once "Run" is open, type "MSCONFIG" into the empty box and click "OK." This will open the System Configuration Utility. With the System Configuration Utility open, select the tab labeled "Services." Scroll down the list of services (it may be beneficial to click the "service" column to sort the services alphabetically) until you find the "Windows Installer" program. Now click the check box beside the Windows Installer name and click the "Disable" button at the bottom of the System Configuration. Congratulations, you have stopped "Windows Installer" from popping up!
To get rid of hp product assistant follow these steps: Click on start then click on run (for XP). (If u have vista them use the search box which appears when u click on start.) under run type msconfig and then click on ok. you will get the system configration utility. At the top right you will get a option that will say startup click on that you will get the list of startup items uncheck the hp product assistant then click on apply and then on ok restart the computer. That should do it for you.
TO REMOVE ' HP PRODUCT ASSISTANT...DO THE FOILLOWING:
DOWNLOAD WINDOWS INSTALLER CLEAN-UP UTILITY FROM ; http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301 and save it to your computer. An "icon" will appear on your desktop....msicuu2....right click on the icon and click "open"....a window will open with a list of programs on your computer..............I found the "HP PRODUCT ASSISTANT" on the bottom of the list. ....highlite it and select delete.
This should definitely work.
You can stop this message from appearing by deleting it in the start-up configuration. How to do this is go to start then run, on type msconfig. A menu will appear then go to start up tab then uncheck the the HP Product Assistant. After the configuration was done the computer will ask to restart your computer. Try if the popup windows will still appear.
