The pilot adjustment screw is located on the back side of the oven temperature thermostat. Lift the cook top to access it. Use a flat screwdriver to adjust... counter clockwise= bigger flame.

SOURCE: Oven not lighting

Sounds like the ignitor in the oven is weak and not building up enough resistance to the gas valve to allow gas to the burner. I would replace the ignitor if it is more than 3 or 4 yrs. old.

SOURCE: majic chef gas range not sure of model #

You need to replace the oven igniter. It's what you see glowing. They grow weak with age. TURN POWER OFF before servicing this. The numbers can often be found behind drawer at lower front, on oven frame, on left or right near bottom.
Bring model # with you. It should be a standard magic chef igniter. Think it's 12400035.
Remove oven floor to access igniter. It's held on by 2 screws in side of burner. Put some dishwashing detergent on them before trying to remove them. Otherwise they might strip out. The new igniter may plug right in or you may have to cut wires and attach with enclosed wire nuts. The 2 wires to it can be attached either way.

SOURCE: stove top pilot light

I have a GE Gas Stove XL44 the stove top buners don't light by themselves without manual lighting. When I turn on the buner knob the buner doesn't click. Also I used my self- cleaning oven for the first time and stopped it before the time was up after that is when the stove top buners wouldn't light by theirselves.

you need to plug the oven in; pull it out and you should locate the pwr cord or you may already have it plugged in and have a breaker turned off or a gfi tripped

How do I turn the temp down after oven has been on for a while. 'Loc on' message is showing and will not allow me to turn oven on.

Can you provide some additional details to help me help you? What kind of stove (make/model) and does it have any kind of self clean mode?

Without knowing the above details generally speaking of the oven is already preheated, to change the temperature you would hit the bake/preheat button to then adjust temp up or down with a digital stove. The dial stove from is self explainatory!

That loc on message may be because you have a stove lock lever or feature that prevents the stove from being opened when enabled, or when the stove is self cleaning. This may prohibit the adjust meant of temperature when the lock is on, or the stove is running through the self clean..

Again all just a general thought without knowing the above information... if you can post back or let me know is this was helpful in anyway to you! Thanks!!

Burners turn on sometimes as does the oven but then may not turn off

Hello, when you turn on one of the burner, can you hear some clicking while you turn on one of the burners? This is an electric ignitor, and when you turn one burner on all the burner ignitor will click.

It is possible, that you are turning your burners on the stove to quick. Take a look at one of knobs and you will see ignition--low---medium---high. To get the burning ignited the knob needs to be position at the ignition site. You'll hear it click-click-click and the burner will ignite.

Now, the oven. The oven ignitor is on a time delay. You will push the bake button and across the screen will say something like this "Please set oven temperature" You'll set the oven temperature to---let say 350 degrees---. Then the screen will say "push start button" then you push the start button to turn your oven on. Now, the screen will say "pre" this means that the oven is pre-heating the oven to your desired temperature. Before all this happens there is ignitor in the oven and it has a heater on the ignitor in oven. This heater will heat up to desired temperature and once it reaches the that temperature the ignitor will ignite and the gas will turn on.

Why--one would say for this procedure. The old kitchen stoves had a very bad habit of of flash over---that is gas will built up in the over and once the pilot light ignited the gas---wussh and it blow the oven door open. These ovens would sometimes huff too.

Therefore, take your time and your biscuit will be OK

I am sorry Sandan2. I didn't finish reading your question. Never mind on what I said here.

If the burners will not shut off sometimes, then there could a gas regulator problem.

One very important question. Is your kitchen stove using Natural Gas or LPG--liquid Petroleum Gas?

If it is using either type of fuel as mention above. It is very important that you contact Appliance repair person that is certified by the state that you live in that he/she is license by the state to work with gas appliances.

I wish you luck, but it very it important that you contact a certified Technician... Also, move the stove away from the wall and look behind it. There a black gas pipe and at the end is a brass valve, Take wrench and turn the gas valve off. The gas valve will have a stainless steel flex line attached to it, and the other end is to your stove. Don't use your stove.

If those gas burners and the oven are leaking gas. There is possibility to blow you and your family with your home up. Don't use the stove, Until you have it check out...please. GB you/your family...stewbison

What the code f3 mean my stove model # is 911.9584991

Hi,

This model ( Kenmore ) has been built by Roper ( 911 - First 3 digits tell you the manufacturer's name ).

F3 refers to Oven temperature sensor open.

You need to check the oven temperature sensor. The value of oven temperature sensor should be around 1100 ohms at room temperature. In case, it is too high or low, you need to replace that.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

We just bought a house that has an oven - Maytag Model #MER5765RAB and it broils but will not bake. I am scared to try the self cleaning part.

If your stove is new, and you know where it was purchased, you may have a warranty claim. I only offer this up as this model is still being sold, so it might be worth pursuing....
The element used for baking is probably to blame. The fix isn't too hard. Isolate the stove electrically by tripping the circuit breaker, usually located at the electrical meter panel box outside. Make certain that the stove, oven and clock are dead as a hammer. You don't want to get shocked. Remove the element. If you have an electrical meter and know how to use it, you can test the continuity of the element to determine if it's bad. Get the make and model of your oven, and purchase a new element from an appliance supply house. Take the old one with you. (They can test it there for you). Installation is the reverse of the removal.
Your model is still available at home hardware retailers like Lowe's, and they may have replacement elements for your model there or at H/Depot, etc... the price generally runs in the $30-$40 range. I prefer the appliance parts supply stores as they carry exact replacements, and are more likely to have it in stock.
Here's hoping that this helped you..Regards, W/D
