What can one do or take to counteract low blood pressure - there is no medication available. There was medication on the market in South Africa and this has now been discontinued - how can one help oneself to boost low blood pressure or raise the level?

Actually, there exists a wide choice of medications to treat low blood pressure, but they have contraindications (you can check this info on the Canadian pharmacy site https://www.canadapharmacy.com/ ). But if you are looking for the natural ways and lifestyle changes to raise low blood pressure, you can try the following:
- eat more salt
- avoid alcoholic beverages
- drink water
- eat small meals frequently
- wear compression stockings
- avoid sudden position changes.
Hopefully, this info will be useful for you.

Why do I get so dizzy like I'm going to pass out when I stand up

Barring any medical conditions, it's the result of blood rushing from your head due to the changing pressures in your cardio system. If this happens often though, you should seek a medical opinion.

Does stevia leaf cause high blood pressure

Hello, April -

The only information I have found regarding stevia and hypertension (high blood pressure) talks about using stevia as a sweetner while taking medication to lower blood pressure.

From: MedlinePlus, a database of medical and health information from the U.S. National Library of Medicine:
https://medlineplus.gov/druginfo/natural/682.html
[Quote]
Some research shows that stevia might decrease blood pressure. In theory, taking stevia along with medications used for lowering high blood pressure might cause your blood pressure to go too low. However, some research shows that stevia does not affect blood pressure. Therefore, it's not known if this potential interaction is a big concern.

far too high
anything over 140 should be discussed with a doctor
If you are self monitoring at home ensure that the monitor is correctly calibrated before each use
Take it along to the doctors and have your pressure read on his machine then read it off yours
To give you an example my blood pressure regularly reads 115 over 55 and my concern that it is too low but the doctor says better low than high and I and 71

Not sure this is the right forum for your question. As we normally don't deal with medical questions. I suggest you go to www.webmd.com and research the treatment for your condition, as well as the medication your doctor used.
