F1-2 fault code persists after sensor replaced

F1-2 fault code, with both ovens affected. New sensor installed last week by professional but problem recurring. The first time it beeped yesterday it was F3-2, but now it is again F1-2. Technician had stated next step would be to replace control panel. Any suggestions?

Re: F1-2 fault code persists after sensor replaced

Sensor is about 40.00 I would recommend replacing it yourself. Part number is 12001656 google the part number for places to purchase it. If you use maytag you will pay through the nose!! I have payed twice now! Control panel is part number 74006213 that runs about 200.00 to 290.00 that is probably not your problem, you just had another bad sensor installed. Maytag doesnt care, they already got you when you bought it!

F4 fault code

Hi Ric,

Fault codes refer to the "clock" component of your range. The exact name depends on the brand you have. For example:
Electronic Range Control
Electronic Oven Control
control board
all refer to the same part.

Usually the F3 and F4 Fault codes refer to the Oven Temperature Sensor (RTD). Here are the steps to take:
1. Check the Connections.
Make sure the wiring is okay between the oven control, oven sensor and sensor harness.
2. Replace Oven Temperature Sensor (RTD).
If the wiring is ok, the Oven Temperature Sensor (RTD) has shorted and it will need to be replaced.

Here is a fairly simple diagram for you:

And below is a link to a video the shows you how to check the sensor:

Hope that helps!

What does F3 mean when trying to on the oven?

F-3 and F-4 are oven sensor failures. If you check the resistance at the electronic control for the sensor input, it should be 1,050 to 1,100 ohms at room temperature.

Replacing the oven sensor should be accomplished by a professional, as improper installation will lead to a quick failure of the new part.

Replacing the oven sensor is an inexpensive repair.
