have you try to turn off your unit and try to open it again?

If still there you will need to normal reset your phone, try to save all your files, back it up , remove the memory card and the sim card and open your unit again

You can use your existing network provider sim - and Roam, but you will have heavy charges.

Alternatively, buy a local sim card in Tenerife and use that on your phone.

Clean the sim carl place with toothbrush sometimes when its dirt it makes troubles.

get new sim card
phone carrier will copy whats on sim to new sim card i didnt get charged for this i dont think they will you either
the roaming overseas always changes parmeters of phone for some odd reason
