How to get timer knob off, pulling hard but not coming off, HELP

If the timer knob is also a switch that pushes in and pulls out to turn on the machine there will be something like a set screw or a clip behind the knob where the shaft enters the knob. That prevents the knob from coming off when it is pulled to switch on/off.

How to get the knob off the washer. Pulling hard not coming off

On back of the timer there's a little plastic clip with two "ears". Pull this out gently but don't remove it. Now you should be able to remove the knob.

How to remove the knob of kitchenaid toaster

The knobs are friction fit, so they just pull off. Some of them can be on very tight, but just pull straight out very hard and it should come off.

The knob is not working. It just turns without starting the washer. I have to press down hard to get the knob to turn to the cycle I want. Is there a way to fix this? GE Top Loader WHDSR109J

This is a common failure. The teeth on the knob have worn off. If you pull the knob out you will see a small clip that can be pulled off this will release the knob. Usually both pieces of the knob need to be replaced. For diagrams and illustrations enter your model # at

I can't get the radio out of the dash of my 1990 740 turbo sta wa

In order to remove the radio, first pull off the the radio knobs (tuning and volume, etc.) there is an outer knob, and an inner ring on each side, first pull off the outer knob....pull straight out- it's tight but it will come off with some hard pulling...then slide the inner ring straight off. Do the same to the other side. Use a flashlight, and look thru the knob hole, between the knob shaft and the outside edge of the knob hole, and you will see and you will see a silver spring clip. Use a slim screwdriver or pen knife to gently pry the end of the spring clip toward the center of the radio, as you try to pull the radio towards you. It will come out about 1/4 of an inch. Then do the same thing to the other side, and the radio will easily slide right out. Good luck.

Temperature Control Knob Replace

If there is no visible screw hole the knob should just pull off. If it is an oven thermostat, they can sometimes be hard to pull off.

Control knob will not turn to desired setting

the timer knob has a clip that will allow you to remove the knob from the timer. it is between the knob and the dial. what happens is the knob has gear like teeth that will become stripped is easy to replace but alittle hard to remove. you need to get a small screwdriver and go behind the knob, pull on it alittle and you will see the clip, then use the screwdriver to push the clip out of the knob, then the knob will pull of and you can replace it.

Timer replacement

the knob, actually, unscrews. pull out the knob as if you are starting a wash cycle, and use needle-nose pliers to hold the back, and unscrew. i learned the hard way when i pulled on it like it was one of the other knobs and yanked the post out.

Removal of the timer knob.

you have two different knobs to replace? it the water level knob or the timer knob?
if its the timer knob you need to remove, look underneath the timer and you will find a black plastic pin depressed at the middle. pull it slowly for about 1/4 of an inch.

then you can remove the knob in the front of the timer switch.

in putting it back, install the knob first in the timer and then depressed that black plastic pin to lock the knob.

be carefull not to pull the plastic pin all the way out. it would be very hard to put it back in.
