Question about Seagate Barracuda 7200.7 ST380011A 80 GB Hard Drive
I have gateway computer with a seagte 7200.7 200 gb interanl hard drive. One day I attempted to boot up the computer and it will not allow my os to start. I have tried to start up in safe mode and to where it worked good last and nothing helps. Do I need another hard drive and if so is there a way to save the infor on this drive
Hello mmlv6...the Barracuda 7200.7 series has been around awhile...if it's been in use all these years then it has performed well and you have gotten your moneys worth from it. I would recommend replaceing it with the new 7200.12 series of your capacity choice...You can remove your exsiting hard drive and install it an external drive bay or docking station and all data on it can be saved and/or transfered...providing it will still spin and you have no major sector damage.
Good luck...i hope this helps...please rate me a fixya.
