Question about Western Digital (WD3200JS) 320 GB Hard Drive
Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD3200AAKS 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive in Shuttle SK83G. Added to system with existing IDE hard drive (HDS722516VLAT80--drive 0). Two external HD's connected via USB. Windows XP Pro w/SP3 2 gig ram.
New Sata drive not showing up on list of drives so I can format it etc. How can i troubleshoot? mostly novice though i managed to build the machine years ago...
Windows XP does not have built in SATA drivers. You will need to download the XP drivers from Western Digital's website and install before the computer will allow you to format and use your new drive. Hope this helps.
