Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5100 All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

When I tell it to PRINT, it keeps saying please waiton the top of the print preview. Then it will spool or whatever it is doing... I have a Easyshare 5100 all in one. I have new cartridges so that is not the problem. It used to IMMEDIATELY print when I told it to. Now it takes hours, I even left it on in print mode all night last night. Sometimes it will print everything I have tried to get it to for hours.. print page after page, then sometimes it will just "get ready" to print but never does. I have unplugged it from the computer and from the printer. I am using a computer with VISTA.. Could that be part of the problem? Many thanks

Is this printer capable of reducing the size of a document and if so how do i make ir happen

You should be able to determine your print size by left clicking at the top left on FILE and then PRINT PREVIEW. Once you open Print PREVIEW, in the middle of the page is a box that says SCALE. Adjust your page size from that. Please note I am using Windows XP, don't know what your operating system is.

Recently, my 7310 will print @ 1 ppm

I believe this has to do with printer spool problems. I would try to clear print spool and also in printer settings you can tell it to print directly and not spool. To restart print spooler go to Control Panel and click on Administrative Tools and then choose Services usually one of the last icons. Once open in alphabetical order find one that says Print Spool and double click on it. When it opens it will have option to stop it so do it and once done it will say start so do it. Try printing again and see what happens. If this resolved good if not right click on your printer and click properties and one of the tabs has option to use print spooling and it is usually checked, just un check it. Hope this helps.

How do you print at 50% w/ an 5610 all in one

I am taking you literally in as much as you did not say "copy at 50%" which is done through the 5610's front control panel.

To print at 50% you use the browser printer settings.

1. Go the the "File" drop down (upper left)
2. Go down to the "Print Preview" selection... a preview screen will then be displayed.
3. Look to the top right part of the screen to find the "Scale" field and set this to 50%. The page will repaint to show you the new print size.
5. Hit print

Internet Explorer:
1. Go the the "File" drop down (upper left)
2. Go down to the "Print Preview" selection... a preview screen will then be displayed.
3. Look along the top-right of the screen for a drop-down field that may say "Shrink to Fit" or a percentage. click this and set it to 50%. The page will repaint with your new setting.
4. Hit the printer icon in the upper left to print.

Hope this helps. Best of luck - Dan

Printer prints too small

open the print preview by clicking on to the drop down arrow on the right hand side of the printer icon which you can find on any web page or email or a document that you are trying to print from on right hans side top. on the top of print preview window you would get different options .there is an optio which is for the font size/ by default it would be fit to page / change it to 75% or more according to your needs and click on the print option ans see what happens /

please let me know whether it worked or not /
i have other resolutions as well

When I print a web page or email from AOL the font isze is very small

Try first doing a File-Print Preview - then on the right most side of the buttons on the Print Preview is a Drop down button that might say, "Shrink to Fit". Change that to read 100% or whatever other percentage you would like and then print it from that Print Preview screen.
