Question about Casio Privia Keyboard Case

1 Answer

Turned on the Privia PX-575R and sound distorted, seems as if bender is in use intermittantly when noone is touching it- and almost like speakers are blown, but volume was never set very high.

You should probably check the bender controller and the master volume potentiometer, they might be dirty / oxydized, in such case, you need to either disassemble and clean them or replace them.

Also check for bad solder contacts on wires, connector pins and any of the components (e.g. voltage regulators, capacitors and/or other components).

Check all connectors for any dirt / oxydation on the pins and clean them if necessary.

Also check the main power switch (dirty contacts may result in erratic behaviour of the unit), and, if we're talking onboard speakers, see if the speaker protection mesh is somewhat loose, it may vibrate and cause the speakers to have dirty / distorted sound (you need to fix the mesh firmly in place to stop it from vibrating).

It could alse be a problem elsewhere in the unit (a bad resistor or capacitor, possibly some other component), these are just some of the things that may cause the unit to have dirty sound.

Hope you can make it sound well again.

I connect the piano to midi and them the speakers stopped sounding, the phones plug too. how can i do the reset factory for the privia px 120?? thanks!

You don't need to reset factory.
You just need to change the setting of LOCAL CONTROL.
Lets start :::
While holding TONE / SETTING button, press key D#7 at 7th octave (highest octave on the right hand). Then release. That's all.
Then the sound must be heard..

Is it possible to disable the speakers on my Casio Privia?

YES. Either plug in headphones into the headphone socket. There should be a switch on the back which disables the speakers as well. A simple ON/OFF switch for speakers

My Casio Privia PX-330BK Keyboard won't turn on.

Try checking your power cord. Perhaps someone stepped on it and it pulled out. It happened to me once. I thought something was terribly wrong with it. I was pretty embarrassed to find out that I'd just cut off power via cable... check your cords before worrying too much. If nothing seems to be wrong, take it in to the repair shop.

How to fix loud key on Privia PX-830

I just fixed mine, it was making the loud sounds and had seemed to have lost the sensitivity. Take out all the screws on the outside, then the sides can come off. That gives access to the inside where you can take out a few more screws (easily seen) and open it all up. The keys themselves just snap in, so two small screwdrivers or strong fingernails can pop them back out. Clean the rubber contacts (they look like little sockets) with Q-tips and rubbing alcohol, then replace the keys. If you take out the white keys of an octave first, then the black keys (keeping them in order) it is a lot easier.

My Privia PX-3 will run fine for about an hour. After that, for example, if I am playing a piano sound and want to switch to organ, I press the organ button and the LED shows that I have chosen the organ...

This problem is NOT DIY and will likely require a trip to the repair shop... One possibility is a static discharge... Try running it for hours with no clothes on that can produce a static buildup and see if it behaves. If so, take maeasures against static... no rubber soled shoes, no wool fabrics, gound yourself to something else before touching the unit...

Casio Privia PX-130, 8 months old: fluttering sound

If I were to venture an educated guess I would vote for failing filter caps in the power supply.

The power is likely collapsing under load of the speakers but headphones take much less drive.

If this has an external wall-wart power supply, you might try a new one IF the output is found to be under the rated voltage.

Internal power supply components are beyond those individuals that are not adept at electronics.

Casio Privia PX-800: When using the sustain

Check if the cble frm the pedal MIGHT be flexing or pulling on the keyboard case when you use it. Such movement COULD vibrate the power connector causing your problem.

Make sure you have the right power supply for the unit as one with too large a hole for the power pin would be intermittent like this.
