We have a General Electric Dryer, Model # DDE 5300 GBLWH.WE KEEP GETTING WHAT LOOKS LIKE OIL STAINS IN THE CLOTHS .IT NOT THE WASHER THATS A GE TOO .

There could be some rubber/plastic or other contaminants in the drum, that leach on to your clothes when the dryer heats up. It's possible that some oil got on the felt seal that goes around your drum.

Maytag dryer drum not rotating

Sounds like the belt that turns the drum has slipped off or broken. Not sure if I would consider this a DIY project, but if this is the problem, a professional fix should not cost much.

Drum rotates and only occasional heat

The problem is the dryer coils are failing. They tend to fail as they heat up. These are inexpensive and easy to replace.

There is a video at www.appliancehelponline.com/servicemanual.html this will walk you thru the troubleshooting of these components. It may be a different model but the troubleshooting will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations. Not all models are available. If you need help disassembling your machine there are videos of this also for most styles.

Older GE dryer: heats fine, drum doesn't turn

check that the blower housing is clear of foreign objects by trying to move the drum by hand in a counter clockwise direction ,dont go to far just try and move it, if that is clear, it will move freely, if not clear blower housing, if that is not your problem then you may have a bad motor.
