Hi I'm trying to duplex print two sides of a small piece size is 4 x 6 inches through the bypass tray. I'm able to duplex on an 8.5 x 11 sheet but when I try a smaller size it does not work. When this size paper is loaded it prints two sheets back to back with no duplex but prints separate sheets. Is there a minimum size for the bypass tray duplex?

Problem isn't "solved", but have realized that the issue is related to the fact that the document I am trying to print is formatted for envelopes. When I print a regular word document (letter) it prints fine to the Bypass tray. It must have something to do with the fact that the document is 1000 envelopes. If I print to a PDF file, then print the document to the Bypass Tray I don't seem to have a problem.

check to make sure on the display panel the paper tray is showing A3 PAPER SIZE>> the paper size indication should match up to what is in the trays if not the machine will be asking for A3. Also try putting in another tray to see if there is a fault with the paper tray .. if it works with other paper sizes it may just be the size hasnt been set properly for that tray.. Hope this helps A

When you print to a env, select envelope for the bypass tray..
Put the envelope face down, longways.

Sorry unfortunately I can not figure out what is going wrong here. It could be the way MS word is sending the document to the printer, the only thing I can think of is that it may be that you do not have the page setup of the document set to legal. There may be something in word that also allows you to send the document to the bypass tray as opposed to the default tray.

check the by pass paper detect sensor and its liver if the sensor activate while printing it will ask to select paper size on by pass
