Solution #1: Press ON/OFF switch to reset the multifunction device

Reset the device when it is not functioning properly.

If the device is not functioning properly or to clear memory, reset it.

1. On the operator panel, press and hold the button for one second. (The display will go blank.)

Note: It may be necessary to unplug the power cord if pressing the ON/OFF button does not shut off the printer.

2. Wait approximately ten seconds and then press the button again.

3. Wait until the device has completed its cycling process before submitting another job request.

How do I re-set error 6A80? on my Canon PIXMA MX700 lcd display?

6A80 is APP position error.First, make sure there is no paper jam anywhere in the machine.. look inside, rear, where the paper tray (output)
is, etc to see if you find any shreds or torn paper that may have gotten stuck and you didn't see.Look carefully in the zone of Purge unit, using flashlight in the right side on printer.Check the sheet feeder. If this not help your printer need service.

Is it possible to prevent the MX700 from receiving & printing incoming faxes (junk faxes)?

It is not designed to do so but try this... Go into your FAX menu and select "Display Device Settings." From there, choose RX settings and then DRPD. DRPD is designed to allow you fax to only answer calls with a distintive ring pattern. By setting it to a pattern that doesn't exist, it should allow the calls to be ignored. Try setting it to something like short short long. Once thats done, go into "User Settings" and "RX Level" and set the volume to zero so you don't hear it ring. If that doesn't work about all you can do is keep the phone line unplugged until you need to send a fax.

White lines across text on Canon MX700

It sounds very much like a failed printhead or printhead driver; the circuit that controls which jet is addressed or left blank.
