Question about Computers & Internet

I'M TRYING TO SET UP A KORG 168RC, THAT I RECENTLY PURCHASED, I LOOKED ON THE INTERNET, AND FOUND A SITE GOR DESIGN SOLUTIONS, THAT HAS A VIRTUAL SETUP OF THE KORG 168RC, WHICH EXPLAINS HOW TO OPERATE THE 168, ONLY PROBLEM, EACH (EMAIL)ADDRESS I TRY, RETURNS NOTHING. CAN YOU HELP ME OBTAIN A COPY LINK OR OBTAIN A EMAIL ADDRESS THAT IS FUNCTIONAL. YOU CAN TRY GOOGLE, IT IS LISTED, AND THE PANELS, I'M TRYING TO GET ARE THE V 2.001 OR THE CLASSIC VERSION

Your best bet, is to try Google, Gor Design (Solution), The Classic or V 2.001 are basically pictorial panels, that describe how the Korg 168rc function,(which is a digital mixer for recording ADAT, optical or analog sounds. I'm a newbie to Korg and the Studioware panels. I have the manual, but, it only tells you so much. I looked all over the planet for solutions and I believe the solution is in obtaining the pictorial panels and using the manual with it to find out how the Korg 168RC functions. The Korg 168 was sold in the late 90's, and all info has been retired, so I'm basically on my own trying to figure out how the Korg functions.

Korg m50 freezes, read in other forums that the problem may be to replace 2 capacitors, do anybody knows wich ones? or have a solution?

Hello, I own a Korg M50 myself and I had the same issue, its a quality control issue at their factory but, I may have a solution for you I found at a Korg forum. the issue is with these teeny cables inside the synth. you open the rear panel and firmly press each teeny cable into the terminals again and re attach and secure them firmly just finger push them all into their teeny sockets. this should stop the freezing I tried it the synth played all night with out freezing . I hope this helps other wise the solution with the capacitors is simple you order a new mainboard but they run about 400 plus. but try my solution it may work for yours this answer comes from a korg tech, he stated 90% of this freezing issue he has encountered has been these loose teeny cabling adapters, hope this helps, Have a great day..

VIRTUAL DJ ERROR 8

A solution is to block the application itself from going online using the tool available to download from the link below. This worked for me and only blocks Virtual DJ from connecting to the internet.

Looking for a used ROLAND or KORG keyboard, 7-Octave

Hello,

This is not a site that sells products. We are a free technical support site.

I might suggest www.ebay.com or www.craigslist.com for a keyboard.

Thanks for using Fixya just the same.

Good luck.

Installing IIS On Windows Xp Pro

If you are running Windows XP Professional on your computer you can install Microsoft's web server, Internet Information Server 5.1 (IIS) for free from the Windows XP Pro installation CD and configure it to run on your system by following the instructions below: -
1. Place the Windows XP Professional CD-Rom into your CD-Rom Drive.

2. Open 'Add/Remove Windows Components' found in 'Add/Remove Programs' in the 'Control Panel'.

3. Place a tick in the check box for 'Internet Information Services (IIS)' leaving all the default installation settings intact.

4. Once IIS is installed on your machine you can view your home page in a web browser by typing 'http://localhost' (you can substitute 'localhost' for the name of your computer) into the address bar of your web browser. If you have not placed your web site into the default directory you should now be looking at the IIS documentation.

5. If you are not sure of the name of your computer right-click on the 'My Computer' icon on your desktop, select 'Properties' from the shortcut menu, and click on the 'Computer Name' tab.

6. Your default web directory to place your web site in is 'C:\Inetpub\wwwroot', but if you don't want to over write the IIS documentation found in this directory you can set up your own virtual directory through the 'Internet Information Services' console.

7. The 'Internet Information Services' console can be found in the 'Administration Tools' in the 'Control Panel' under 'Performance and Maintenance', if you do not have the control panel in Classic View.

8. Double-click on the 'Internet Information Services' icon.

8. Once the 'Internet Information Services' console is open you will see any IIS web services you have running on your machine including the SMTP server and FTP server, if you chose to install them with IIS.

9. To add a new virtual directory right click on 'Default Web Site' and select 'New', followed by 'Virtual Directory', from the drop down list.

7. Next you will see the 'Virtual Directory Creation Wizard' from the first screen click the 'next' button.

9. You will then be asked to type in an 'Alias' by which you will access the virtual directory from your web browser (this is the name you will type into your web browser after 'localhost' to view any web pages you place in the directory).

10. Next you will see a 'Browse...' button, click on this to select the directory your web site pages are in on your computer, after which click on the 'next' button to continue.

11. On the final part of the wizard you will see a series of boxes, if you are not worried about security then select them all, if you are and want to run ASP scripts then check the first two, followed by the 'next' button.

12. Once the virtual directory is created you can view the web pages in the folder by typing 'http://localhost/aliasName' (where 'aliasName' is, place the alias you called the virtual directory) into the address bar of your web browser (you can substitute 'localhost' for the name of your computer if you wish).

Korg triton Touchview screen not working properly

The Korg Triton touchscreen has two main parts - The LCD screen and the touch overlay. Between the two is a type of gasket. It is really just an adhesive, but it does help keep out moisture and dust. If you were to remove the screen, you could separate the two parts, clean it and use double-face tape or glue to reattach. You can also get a replacement LCD screen, touch overlay or touch-LCD assembly from a number of places on the internet. They are not cheap, unless you purchase a generic touch overlay or LCD and retrofit.
As for repair in your area... try contacting Korg at http://www.korg.com and look for authorized repair centers.
