Question about Garmin NUVI 360 GPS Receiver

2 Answers

Our GPS keeps saying "Navigon software cannot be started." a yellow/organge light is shining to the right of the reset hole. we checked and the computer chip seems to be intact; it had fallen out the last time we had this problem. Nothing happens when we push the start button and put a paper clip into the reset hole. We're traveling and don't have the name (by the way - we are lost!!!). It says Canada 310 FC underneath.

we may have given you the wrong number for our Navigon. On the bottom it has Canada 310. The first guy suggested we raise the GPS antenna; we have no GPS antenna. The next solution was to push the upper right corner of the screen and check YES. I clicked the upper right corner but nothing happened. The Navigon screen continues to read: NAVIGON SOFTWARE CANNOT BE STARTED. HOLD THE ON/OFF KEY PRESSED AND PRESS RESET SIMULTANEOUSLY. nOTHING HAPPENS WHEN WE DO THIS.

We can't get the micro chip out of the device. We push it in with a pencil point or toothpick but it doesn't pop out like it should. What should we do? Kent Millard

Remove the Micro SD Card
Turn the device off by depressing the power button on the upper left for 10 seconds.
Insert the Micro SD Card and turn on the device.
The software will start and the device will become functional again. This can take up to 40 seconds.

If the above doesn't work, try updating the software from their website. If that still doesn't help, then start looking for a broken and/or loose connection around the computer chip. Possibly a dirty connection. Let me know how this turns out.

You can pull it right out without it popping. It won't wreck nothing, the popping out is a convenience for the user. Use a needle nose pliers if needed

HI,

You will have to reset your GPS to fix this issue.First go for a soft reset. This will not erase any saved data.If the soft reset does not fix the issue then you will have to go for a master reset. This will erase all the data and restore your GPS to the factory defaults:

SOFT RESET:

1)Disconnect Nuvi from External Power
2)Flip up the GPS antenna and press The GPS button
3)Connect Nuvi to a power source,The nuvi should automatically turn back on and operate normally.

MASTER RESET:

Hold your finger to the upper right corner of the Nuvi screen while you turn on the nuvi.Keep you finger pressed until the pop up window appears.
Touch YES and all factory settings are restored.Your reset selections and audi bookmarks are also deleted.

Thank you.

Navigon 2000s I cannot reset the Navigon 2000s

Well after many emails to Navigon I got the fix for my 2000s What you have to do is download the 1.2 version software for the 5100 install it on a 2GB micro SD Card. Put it in the slot and turn it on. You will have to regester as if you have a 5100 but it will work. The reason you have to use a 2GB card is the maps are to large to go on the internal memory.

My navigon 2110 wont turn on

2 things that might help...use a paperclip and press the reset button (small hole on side, you'll feel a click) hold it for 5 seconds. THEN hold down the power on button for over 10 secs (keep holding while it shows version number) and it will perform a factory reset. You will likely lose any settings and addresses, but better that than no GPS unit.

I HAVE A MESSAGE ON MY 2100 GPS,SAYS MN6 .EXE HAS PERFORMED AN IL

Sounds as if the system software that runs the GPS has been corrupted. Your device should have come with a CD that has software that can be reloaded or a utility that can be installed on the PC that connects to the navigon website to download and install the software for you.

Might want to start with that.
Hope this helps
