Check to see if the float switch located on the bottom corner of the dishwasher is not stuck in the up position. Move it up and down a few times and it should click each time you move it up and down.
If this is ok then you have to put a multi meter across the water inlet valve to see if you have a current flow the the valve. If you you have 120 volts at the inlet valve and still no water. Replace valve.

Having selected a programme and pressing the start button, the machine runs for about 10secs and trips out.

Most often when refilling the water supply system with water and bring it trash that usually clogged grid in the water supply and the appliance does not get water or it slowly filled appliance (time out water intake). I would in your place disconnected inlet hose and clean the grid located at the entrance of water (inlet valve) in the appliance and sometimes between the pipe and the inlet hose.

No water entering machine

A very common cause of this is the electric solenoid operated inlet valve failing in the closed position. So when it gets a "go" signal it does not open. The spare part is cheap, so most of the cost would be a service call.

Filters have been checked and appear to be clear. All lights come on. No error message showing. Green start button light flashes. Nothing happens when it is started?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

Is it waiting for water inlet perhaps?

If you have checked that the hot and cold water taps are turned on fully and the hoses are not kinked or squashed at the back, it is worth while checking both the hot and cold water inlet filters. Turn the taps off and remove both hoses at the washer end. Inside each inlet port there is normally a little filter which should just slide out. Clean if necessary and replace each one and the hoses. If after turning the taps back on there is no improvement, the problem is symptomatic of a malfunctioning hot or cold water control valve. Sorry but it needs a service call and a check that it isn't the control PCB ;-0(

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.

Miele washing machine

All Miele washing machines and dishwashers need to fill in a required time. Flashing inlet (Tap icon) indicates that the machine can not fill in time. There are filters in the end of the hoses which connect to your water supply from the machine and filters in the inlet valves which you can get at by removing the hose from where it fixes onto the machine it'self. You will need some long nose pliers to grab the little tab on the small filter to get it out. Clean all filters and hoses. Still same problem then check the pressure of the water coming into the machine. There should be a good pressure coming out of the hose and will be difficult to stop the flow of water with your finger.
