My HITACHI 42HDT50M is not power ON. The AVC is power ON, but not the TV. Can you tell me why?

I've tried to plug and unplug both AVC and the monitor, but the AVC was ON and the plasma TV was not ON. Why?

Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts.

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Before going further; try a hard reset first. If it does not help you, replace the main digital board. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here.

Tv will not turn on unless it is unplugged numerous times and will not stay on unless it has a program at all times? If not, it goes to standby and shuts off 42HDT50M Hitachi

There are components on the power supply board that are failing. www.shopjimmy.com has a wide array if service parts kits that contain the most often failed components. Prices are good. These are for do it yourselfers, so if you are uncomfortable with a soldering gun, then have a repair shop do it. After 11 years, though , it may be time for a new one.

I cannot connect my direct tv

The S-Video connections have the same 4 prongs & 1 plastic guide always. You are trying to plug it into a factory-service port on the bottom (looks similar to S-Video, but it's not it). Instead, connect the S-Video wire to Input 3 on the back of the AVC (Audio Video Control Center). The AVC is the box that came with the TV.

Display powers of with power up of AVC

This is the problem with my LC-37HV4U. I plug in the AVC and the tv/monitor and I get both red power lights (not blinking) but no green lights, sound, or picture. I mean the tv screen stays black! It seems like their is no communication between the AVC and the monitor. I thought at least the screen would light up when the power light came on and being it has it's own power source. This tv is driving me nuts!! Can anyone please help?? Thank you.
