Question about Cuisinart DGB-500 Coffee Maker

2 Answers

The coffee maker starts to make coffee but after about two cups it quits. Restarting it sometimes works but not always. Sometimes several restarts isn't enough. Sometimes it finishes on the first try.

I already rinsed it several times with full strength vinegar. I also purchased a new filter which I installed yesterday. Same result. Since the coffee maker doesn't seem to keep good time either it seems to be shutting down completely for minutes at a time sometime during the day.

I tried other outlets. I think it is the logic board also. I could probably wire it around the logic board and do everything manually if I knew how to get into the guts of the machine. It is long since out of warranty but we love this machine even though we have another Cuisinart new in the box. It is the one we would like to keep using.

Replace the thermostatic probe, that is the only part that can cause this.

It's very likely that there is a mineral build up somewhere in the water flow path. Mix a weak vinegar and water solution(1:3 or 1:4) up and run it through the machine a few times discarding what flows through to the caraffe each time.

Having a filter while you clean is optional but it could help keep from blocking the hole under the filter with debris freed durign the cleaning.

If it's really bad, try a stronger solution. If you don't have any vinegar around you can try baking soda or even lemon juice instead.

Good luck.

OK, very good adiditional information. Seems most likely now that your issue is either with a bad logic board or a loose power connection. For a start, try plugging the unit into a different wall outlet and see if the problem goes away.

If that doesn't work, then you can try replacing the plug on the end of the cord.

After that, it's probably the logic board which is fine if it's still under warranty as you should be able to get the unit replaced; if not, then it's probably not worth fixing unfortunately.

Hello There! We have several Keurig coffee makers and we have a problem as follows: The rubber seal inside at the top underside around the puncture pin comes off quite often and will not stay glued...

I have a B70 that will not brew a full cup of coffee. Sometimes it shuts down brewing with only a 1/4 cup brewed. It usually will put out a full cup of water the first or second time and then very little. I have run vinigar through it but it did't help.

Keurig troubles

Mine started off this way, then quit running any water through the K-cup. I overcame the with a reusable K-cup. If it will run a full cup through without a K-cup in place, this will probably work. They are available online and at some national chain stores for about $15.00. It's a little more inconvenient than K-cups, but better than throwing out a $150 coffee maker.
