DLP television picture not clear (blurry) and dark.

Hello
If picture is dark in DLP TVs, its lamp should be taken care of. In some lamps, the reflecting side coating of lamp will be bubbled, preventing sufficiant light to fall on DLP chip. Replace the lamp if necessary. Check it first, taking it ouside. OK.

Ihave a Philips 50PL9126D tv and I just replaced the lamp because the picture was very dark. I can see the picture but it is still somewhat dark, bright in the middle, dark at the edges. I tried to adjust...

Sounds like you may have the wrong lamp. Make sure you purchased a Philips lamp that's 100% compatible with your television model. Philips pioneered that lamp, so naturally they make 100 different types for DLPs and LCD projections.

You may have an elliptical lamp instead of parabolic. The lamp for your TV should read P22h.

Very dark picture. Video adjustments do not help.

I would check the lamp first. Open the lamp door to see if there is cloudiness near the stem of the lamp. If so, replacing the lamp should make the brightness like when you first bought it.

Picture is dark

Adjust video settings:
  1. Press Wega Gate
  2. Select Settings
  3. Highlight Video
  4. Press + to select
  5. Adjust/increase the brightness.
  6. Press Wega gate to exit.
If picture is still dark, you need to replace the lamp again. Sony recommends that you replace the lamp:
  1. After approximately 8,000 hours of use.
  2. When the screen becomes dark or the color becomes unusual.
  3. When the lamp indicator on the front of the TV flashes.

Dark picture!

The Lamp it self, the Ballast, or the Power Supply that powers the Ballast. Even a combination of the Lamp and Power Supply is a common problem. If you have not replaced the Lamp since you have owned the set I would replace that first. The Lamp has about a 3000 to 5000 hour life span.
Hope this helps,

Tv will not turn on

For dark picture I need to ask one question, How long ago you replaced its lamp? one year, two years?

Picture brightness is depends on lamp in LCD rear projection (DLP) TVs and if lamp got weak in generating light, you will see dark picture.

I would recommend to replace lamp and buy Sony original lamp from Sony Accessories Store.

Required lamp part number is as follows..
F93087500 LAMP BLOCK ASSY XL-2400
and price is $200
Good luck.
