Heater core is bad. Part is about $40...labor is around $700. The entire dashboard has to be removed and this is a major time involved job. It takes 10 to 12 hours.

as long as the engine temperature is normal, i would suspect a clogged heater core, the dex-cool antifreeze is notorious for building up deposits in cooling system. have heater core flushed first to see if it makes any difference

The system just needs to get all the air pockets out if you switched everything like you said look around where the radiator hose meets where you put the thermostat in, there should be something on the lines of a little nipple with a 8 mm bolt on it i will have to pull up the exact setup of your Taurus but its the same general concept your car is fine you just have a big air pocket , what else you can do is while its cold right now and the car isnt running is to go take the radiator cap off the radiator and see if the antifreeze is low now that the car has cold down since you last ran it. If so feel it up top it off in the radiator and it might hurp it self and remove the air pocket all on its own... i had this exact same problem with my 98 explorer. your blend actuator (blend doors) are not morking. these are on the passenger side under the dash. getting to them will be dificult, but it can be done. you will need to take apart the heater box, to fix them. (the big black box under the dash).

Your problem is the air temp control blend door actuator is defective and not controlling temp u set. to change/access this part the dash assembly must be removed from the car.

Temperature Control Blend Door Failure No Heat
In all modern cars there is a tiny DC electric motor driven gear drive that moves a plastic door that blends heated and cooled air from the AC and the heater core, this is called (interestedly enough) the air temperature control blend door actuator. The motor that moves this door fails because the door starts sticking from warping, most common complaint is no heat but it can be no AC as well. To replace these parts (blend door and blend door actuator) you must remove the entire dash from the car. Always have this problem confirmed by a dealer or qualified repair shop as it is a very expensive repair.
