Hmmm, Dont let it heat up. :-)

If there is some setting in BIOS to speed up the fan then its good, speed it up.

If not then place it on such a place from where your colling fan is "NOT" covered with anything.
Usually when the machine is in your lap, we accidently block the air flow path, and the machine starts to heat-up.
It has happened to me also.

You need to blow out the fins from the heat sink near the back of the laptop. Make sure its clean . If the heats are still to high then remove the heat sink and fan from processor and remove old thermal paste and reapply new paste. If this still does not work then add thermal paste to the South bridge

There are two things you can do. 1. You can get a air spay cleaner in a can and spray it beneath the computer where the fan turns. I guarantee you there is alot of dirt in there thats stopping the fan from turning. Or you can get a oscillating fan and place it near the computer on one side and turn it on while you use the computer.

I do electronic repairs and sometimes I do work for The Phone Rush a site that sells cheap used cell phones. Often times I their computers have this problem. Check them out sometimes at www.thephonerush.com

I see this problem all the time. You're going to have to open the laptop and find the heatsink (the area where the cpu fan pulls air in over the chip to keep it cool. Theres usually coils ahead of the fan itself and these tend to get clogged with god knows what...as a result no air is flowing over the chip...a can of air will usually recify the problem. This link should help.

BTW, I had a friend of mine give me an unorthodox way of keeping the laptop cool. Put a cup of ice near the air intake while you're using you're computer. Sounds crazy, but it does work.

Good Luck

Why do my acer aspire 5735 power on itself when i plug power core and turn off by itself

Hi Buddy,

Try a different Power adapter first most probably that will resolve the issue, if that does not works try to reseat the RAM. if this does not works as well then this is a CMOS battery or Heat sink issue.

Hello, i have a acer aspire 5735 laptop and it overheats... i checked the vents and i cant see through it..... please help

Most of the time laptop overheats due to the accumulartion of dust on the vents.
You can clean it by blowing a can of compressed air into the vents and thus cleaning it.
Still if it continues to overheat- please elevate the laptop properly i.e work on it keeping it on a hard surface so that there is proper passage of air from the laptop.
Lastly make sure that the fan beneath is running properly i.e - you can hear the sound of the fan.
Hope this much will work.

I installed the Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade (store bought) and now my Acer Aspire 5735 gets blue screens, shuts itself down, and random programs get the "**** has stopped working" message.

you shouldn't of installed it because if you would of ran the windows 7 compatibility thing that is on the disc, it would say that your computer is incompatible. You should buy another copy of windows xp and install that.

My Acer Aspire over heats and switches itself off ? or at least that's what i think is happening because it just turns it self off. or Do you think something else is causing this ?

Turn it off. If it is really, reallyhot, stop using and let it cool down. It may seem like a no-brainer, but thisis the best method for cooling down your laptop.

Blank screen. Won't turn on.

You could have an overheating problem. The CPU shutsdown when it overheats and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. Check the CPU fan and heatsink assembly. The fan may have stopped spinning or spins slowly and the heatsink is clogged with dust.
Remove the dust and replace the fan if it is faulty.
