Question about Belkin (F5D5231-4) Router
I just set up my G+ router. I think my neighbors also have a Belkin router because I can't pick up my network, which I named my last name, I can only pick up theirs. It's like my router has just extended their network, if that is possible. Any suggestions on how I can fix this?
Do you perhaps have both Windows Wireless Zero Configuration and the
wireless configuration utility that is supplied by the mfr of your
computer's wireless interface running at the same time?
there are many cases of people accidentally connecting to the wrong network because both neighbors used default settings on their equipment. It is a very good idea to secure your network, both to discourage the casual wardriver (who will likely just move to an unsecured system) and to prevent accidental use by a neighbor
Also, make sure that you set your network as the default and disable the "automatically connect to non preffered networks" (or something worded similar to that.
Hope this is helpful.
