Generally the error message is due to "some" electrical overload. It settles itself most times by turning off the sewing machine for a few seconds to allow complete shut-down and then turning it back on. It the error message returns, it is best to visit your qualified local technician.
I know you said you have performed the reset sequence, but try these steps and see if the unit goes through the diagnostics correctly. 1
Turn off your Janome MC8000. Wait for a few seconds.
2
Press and hold the "Start," "Reverse" and "Auto lock" buttons at the same time.
3
Release the three buttons once your Janome MC8000 turns on.
4
Locate the plus (+) sign on the machine screen. Press the plus sign when prompted. Wait till you receive a message that says "Test Complete."
5
Turn off the Janome MC8000. Wait for a few seconds.
6
Turn on the Janome MC8000 once again. This will prompt the embroidery machine to conduct a diagnosis. Wait till it finishes the diagnosis and troubleshoots the errors you were encountering before.
Just repaired my wife's Kenmore with this problem.
How it works:The machine sends power to the motor, and checks if it is turning by looking at expected pulses as light shines through a slotted disk attached to the shaft of the same motor. No Turn = "Overload" error.
How it Presents: From the overload error: If you turn the motor shaft by hand first, then pressed the foot peddle it would run, but there was a "sweet" spot where; if the motor was turning slow enough, it would stop and the next time you pressed the peddle the "Overload" error would occur again.
The Fix: In her case the motor has a poor solder joint on one winding of the motor. A manufacturing error that took years to manifest. A surprising simple repair, if you are comfortable with this sort of stuff. Just disassemble the motor and re-solder. Try it, otherwise the motor must be replaced.
But this is an example of pushing a saw beyond it's limits. At best you should have cut one post, shut the machine off and let it cool... then go for the next. (Better yet get a friend with a saw mill saw the thing down for you)
I believe you have burned out your motor. Off the store you go....for a new one.
try changing the needle rethread the machine top & bobbin make sure the fabric is moving smoothly between the presser foot & the feeddogs check the top thread tension--it might be to tight it could the computer part of the machine--some part of the computer could be going out the motor could be locking up some sewing machine are not made to sew heavy fabric if the machine keeps doing this, then the machine needs to be checked
A button is pressed when the machine halts due to te overload. Wait for at least 15 seconds to recover. If thread jamming cuses overload, remove the tangled threads.
The overload message is usuall due to a bind in the mechanical function of the machine. When the motor has an extra "load" caused by something like a tight belt or dry bearing, it "overloads" the motor and the error message is displayed. It is doubtful your problem is computer related. Either way a trip to your service tech is required. If you continue to sew with it, you do run the risk of possible damage to some other parts of your machine. The computer portion of your Husqvarna is guaranteed for 5 years and the mechanical parts carry a 20 or 25 year guarantee depending on when you purchased your machine. A copy of your bill of sale from a Husqvarna Viking dealer or a stamped warranty card is the proof of purchase needed to obtain warranty replacement of parts. Labor is only guaranteed for 1 year.
Overload Viking:
The machine has a built in overload protector, if your needle can’t penetrate, it may stop the machine from working for a few minutes. Just wait it will reset automatically. Then, try a Sharp needle (denim needle is ideal) and be sure to Never Never reverse sew on heavy fabric, your needle will bend and hit the needle plate, use the FIX button for knotting (it really does work).
