You can try to glue a pin or needle from your machine (just break it to make it the right length).

Janome 6600. Needle came loose &fell down into the bobbin area. Needle did not break off. I took off the plate and manually tried to move a new needle and shaft up/down. needle is hitting something

If you did not get the old needle out, it may be blocking something. That old needle must be removed before you attempt to any further sewing. Try removing the bobbin case from the machine and looking in there to see if you can locate and remove the old needle. Sometimes, I've had to turn the machine sideways or upside down and shake it to dislodge the needle.

Open the bobbin area and hand rotate the handwheel while watching the needle action. If it is hitting, you should see it. If that is the case, the machine may be out of time and need service.

What would be better to solve the following problem?

Good morning, remove the bobbin. There should be a plate holding the bobbin casing in. Something with a screw in it. Before removing anything, take pictures so you'll remember how to put it back together! If the plate comes out, carefully lift out the bobbin casing and see if you can dislodge the needle piece.

Janome memory craft 6500 sewing machine...all of a sudden, the bobbin thread does not attach itself to the needle thread...i have taken off the plate, cleaned out the dust, rethreaded both top and bottom...

Has the bobbin case dislodged and moved? there should be two red marks one on the bobbin case and one on the outer holder, are they lining up? Sometimes as these cases are held by a magnet, they will get dislodged and move slightly, especially in a jam up.
Take out the bobbin case and clean under it, then replace it matching up the red marks.

If the bobbin case has actaully been struck by the needle during a dislodgement, it may well pierce the bobbin case plastic, look for burring or marks on the outer flange area. If this has occured, the thread may catch on the burr as it comes over the bobbin and jam again.

You can buy a new bobbin case if yours is damaged or maybe just file the burring with an emery board (remove it from the machine first of course).

Lastly, check your needle hasn't been bent, burred, or put in backwards, any of these can prevent a stitch from forming.

If all the above fails, then it is possible that the timing has been knocked out and you will need to get it serviced by a technician.

My Husqvarna Huskylock will not catch the 3 thread overlock when sewing. I am sure it is threaded right. Hope you can solve this!

First thing to try is a new needle and make sure it is inserted into the needle holder all the way! There is a small opening in the needle clamp. Look closely at it when you're inserting the needle and you will see the top of the needle through that hole as it reaches it's top position. Also check the needle plate, are there 2 small needle like pins in the plate? If one of them has broken out of the plate, you'll have a hard time getting it to sew correctly. If it is missing one, you need to buy a new plate. If all of that is correct and it still doesn't sew properly (and you're sure it's threaded right), a trip to your service tech will be needed.

A pin got caught in the foot of my Pfaff 2048 and now the needle hits the face plate. I tried changing the needle, but no help.

the face plate may have been dislodged, check the screw, try taking it off and putting it back on. if it continues, it may be damaged and need to be replaced

That sounds like the needle is not in straight or is bent.

Needle won't move; something stuck/dislodged

Can you remove the bobbin? Sometimes when thread gets bunched up under the lower plate it will force the bobbin out of position. Try taking it out and cleaning any loose thread and lint from the area. Put a couple of drops of oil on the outside of the bobbin case and re-insert it. Make sure you lower the needle and pull the bobbin thread through to the top and back behind the needle before beginning to sew again.
Hope this works!
