Agp 2x is 32 bit at 66 mhz, the 2x standard is quite old now not sure if they are still avalible or not the carda are backward compatible but as far as i know they are not forward compatible, backward means the 8x slot will accept the older card. forward compatible is the ability to put the 8x card in the 2x slot. you could do a search for a 2x agp card. the voltage is different on the cards and the slots are different, even if it would plug in the voltage wouldn't be correct. you might want to try a std pci video card if you have an extra pci slot.be sure std pci and not pci express they are different.

It depends on the motherboard, which graphics card it supports or which not. Note down you motherboard's model no. and brand, visit a computer shop. You'll find very good graphics card for Rs.4000/-. For 1gb graphics card with 1 vga, 1 dvi and 1 hdmi, it'll cost around Rs. 2500 to Rs. 2800.
Let me know if you need further help.
Good Luck.

Total of 1GB is min. for day to day operation.

If your are going to view movie and do other operations then bump it up to 2-4GB system ram.

Ram is cheap.

I will start with 2GB total.

Help about mainboard MSI-7312 ver 1.0

ya u can purchase AGP8x graphic card. But
AGP8x slots become old, now PCIExpress 16x is in the market it is better, advance gives higher performance for games and software than AGP gives.
AGP is also costly than PCIE graphic cards.
So, i want to suggest u that u should purchase Intel Original Board
of G965, G45 series boards it has lots of benefits configuration with DDR2, 4SATA ports, PCIE-16x and u not need to purchase graphic card
because these board supports T&L it has 256MB to 384MB inbuilt graphics which can play most of the high graphics games without graphic card. I am to using G965RY board with 384MB inbuilt. but company has stop manufacturing this board. Now more better boards have launched in the market which is better then 965RY.
Now its upon u what to do. Good Luck
