Onan marquis 5000 model # 5bgmfa26105f runs for a few minutes and shuts off. let it cool off and it will start again. whats the problem?

There are many possible reasons from stator output voltage to sensing, to fuel to control boards. A good place to start (as the unit does run) would be with the fuel system, if it has sat a long time it won't help. Also the fuel filter. try conencting to an external fuel tank versus the vehicles, as sometimes pick up tubes in main tanks can be an issue. Also check the correct oil level and viscosity / and oil pressure switch. Failing that I recommend a service center, as there really are so many causes, I cannot list all on here.

Engine starts and runs fine for about a minute

try to clean out the carb first with auto parts carb cleaner, then you may need to buy a totally new carb for the unit, as this company will NOT sell parts for these carbs due to the carb setting is sealed & has to stay at a set level for voltage output and setting

Generator will shut off after running for 5 - 8 minutes... sputters a couple of times then cuts off. It has proper amount of oil & plenty of good fuel. I can let it cool off a few minutes and it starts...

I would change the fuel and air filters, very inexpensive fix. A rich or lean situation on them can make it act the same way. Or if you want try one or the other first.

My honda gx160 generator keeps cutting out after 2 mins

Sounds like fuel flow is restricted.
Is the vent cap on the gas tank clear?
Pull the fuel hose off at the carb and let run into a container from the tank......is fuel flow good while filling a cup or two worth of fuel?
If not check filter at fuel switch or at hose connection at tank for restriction.
It takes about 2 minutes to use up fuel in the carb with engine running.
Sure sounds like a fuel problem.

My chainsaw wont run at full speed

Dump the gas and start over, pour some chem-tool in the tank slosh it around for a wile and dump it out, then refill your saw with NEW PREMIUM GAS and NEW OIL mixed at the correct ratio, it will take a few minutes to get the old fuel out of the line but then it will run like new, Gas and oil goes bad faster these days as oil company's no longer put in as much if any stableizer's
