Why won't my dyson dc14 animal to turn on

I have received many dysons for repairs citing the same fault. 99% have the motors 'open circuited'. Simply put, this means that the motor windings have broken and the circuit no longer has continuity and therefore will not work. The motors do not give any indication and do not smell, they simply faulter. Without testing your unit I cannot say for sure, but, that would be my guess. Sorry, Cheers.

I hsave a dyson dc14 was vacuuming and the power gradually started to reduce then completely died what could be the cause of this

If you mean the motor actually stopped, you may have got something lodged in a hose etc and as vacuuming it restricted more air flow which reduces the suction and will overheat the motor. Most have a thermally protected motor so after they cool down they will come back on, but unless you find the restriction, it will overheat again and cut off. If a hepa filter gets clogged up enough, it can do the same thing and some have a post motor hepa that says it is lifetime, but it is not.

Dyson dc14 died, no power after burning smrll

It sounds like the motor has overheated and has now been irrepairable damaged.
The motor has a built in over-current trip to protect itself (and you if it seriously overheated and caught fire). This normally automatically resets itself, however if the motor has just about had it, the moment it is switched on, it just trips again.

The primary cause of motors overheating is that the filters are not cleaned or replaced frequently enough. Dont be fooled by Dyson's "lifetime filters". They need to be regularly cleaned and replaced when necessary.

Replacement motors are avaible on eBay for about £25, however repalcing one requires good DIY skills and tools.

Have a look at www.dysonmedic.com and see if you feel you can tackle it yourself. If not, take it to a repair shop or call the Dyson helpline.

Burning smell

Have you checked the the hoses are free of debris?
Is the setting for floor on when you are vacuuming the carpet.

Turn id on an see if it will **** up some pennies.
Use the hose for that.

Check for string hair, etc cought in the brush.
Use the small pick knife that should have came w/ the dyson to cut away and thing caught in the brush.

Hope this helps.

The brush on my dyson dc14 animal will not rotate

You probably have a broken belt. You need to take the plate off the bottom and see if the belt is broken. If so, contact Dyson (1-866-693-9766) to get another belt.
