Is it true that when you use fob to lock your vehicle that robbers can get your code through airwaves?

yes
they use a frequency scanner that reads the signal from the fob to the receiver in the car
normally it is only good to open the doors but if you use a remote starter then you would have real trouble

How do I get the code or reset the code to unlock the door with out the key in case of emergency?

Go to ford owners.Com and register for free then download the manual onto your phone/computer and programming remote controls is there along with your fuse box diagrams and values I am assuming that you want to do remote key fob programming that's in the manual////if your talking about the door key pad for keyless entry take off the door panel on the drivers side and the module is there with a sticker with the door code on it provide that nobody messed with it and then you can follow the manual instructions to set your own door code but the original door code will be there always it's non erasable unless the module is flashed if the sticker for the code is missing check inside the door it might have fallen off but if not go to the dealer and they can acess the driver door module code for you this should help you out big time if you now have the code after entering it the driver door will unlock immediately press button 3/4 and the other door will unlock and press 5/6 and the lift gate will unlock and press 8/9 to lock everything so back to the key fob if that's what your trying to do the manual will give you the sequence for programming the remotes but you must practice this because you must have all remote controls with you and you must turn the key to the right position the right amount of times and you will enter the programming mode and the door locks will cycle then press the remote buttons to get them in the system you'll see you need to be fast and you can program I think 4 remotes at one time and the other thing that comes to my mind is that you have a pats system antitheft in that truck there's a flashing red light when it's activated make sure you have more than one key if not pray you never lose it otherwise you have to get towed to a dealer and they have to reflash new keys into that system and depending where you are and the cost of the tow it could cost a real lot of $$$$$$$ dealer cost is $350.00+the keys and ^ +the tow you could be looking at $600+so be careful if you have 2 keys you can buy more and program them easily yourself if you only have 1 key it will not let you into the programming mode but you can get that key cloned at home Depot Lowe's or a locksmith and it doesn't matter how many keys you clone they will all start the truck they will all have the same code as your original one and will cost a lot less each key is about $35-60 bucks depending on which type your key is so if you cloned 3 you'll be in good shape and will always have a spare for those Corona nights that you forget your keys and now your standing there the next day swearing holy cow batman there's no key for my batmobile ha ha this extra info I provided only involves the keys not the remote controls so good luck and have some chips and salsa with those corona's stephen

2000 Trooper LS. Why won't the ignition key unlock any of the doors? (the metal key part)

  • Some of the locks have been probably changed before.

  • Or you need to get original keys for truck, copies just get worn out by use.

1999 Buick Century Custom Security light blinks and car will not start

someone told me to by getting out of the car and locking the driver door with the key, going to the front passenger door and unlocking, then relocking the door using the key. I have to repeat this step 2-4 times and eventually it will start. ?????????
This has nothing to do with it starting !

This is what's happening , Inside the lock cylinder are contacts that read the resistance of the pellet on the key , the contacts are getting worn out . You have two options , replace the lock cylinder or by-pass it all together .
The PASS-Key II® ignition key (1) contains a unique resistor pellet which is idenified by the Body Control Module (BCM) (2). There are 15 different key (resistor) codes. Only one ignition key resistor pellet code will work with each PASS-Key II® theft deterrent system.
Ignition Key Lock Cylinder
The ignition lock cylinder contains spring loaded contacts which make physical contact with the ignition key when it is inserted into the ignition lock cylinder. This allows the ignition lock cylinder to provide the Body Control Module (BCM) (2) with the resistor code embedded in the ignition key.

My security light is blinking and my car wont even attempt to turn over. whats wrong?

It sounds like you have a chip style key. Most GM dealers can make you one if you bring them the cars VIN number and paperwork showing you own the car. Key can be expensive, Ford keys $100 each, GM usually $50. Not fun for just a stupid key. Some hardware stores like the Ace chain now have a display at their "key" counter that you put your key in a slot and if it lights up it means it can see it is a chip key. If the key is totally dead the dealer is the only help, if Ace can read it still they are cheaper. If your key is the black - fairly thick type key it is probably a chip key.

2002 Dodge Caravan 3.3 liter 6, 36,000 original miles..Car runs fine, but headlights and E-flashers just started blinking on & off, alternately, like a police car would do. Kept on, no change, even...

sounds like you have a security problem, (antitheft) , when it acts up take the key and put it in the outside door lock switch with the door shut and window down and lock and unlock the drivers door with the key,it should quit, if not try locking and unlocking car with key fob(remote lock, unlock switch on key chain), if that dont work , you have further prob. with security system and take it to a shop. if it quits with the key process and then comes back on , the sensitivity might be to high. does the horn go off with the lights?

Car unlocked but it sets the alarm ... car locked alarm goes for no obvious reason s type 4 liter.

Are you using the the keychain to lock unlock the vehicle? A low battery in the keychain will send wacky codes to your vehicle alarm system and will not set properly. Try using the key in the door to lock unlock vehicle. IF the alrm does not go off when using the key in the door, then you probably have to change the battery in the key chain. Best guess without being there to look at vheicle.

My car key is stuck in the driver's side door (VW new Beetle).

I assume you have tried juggling and turn ing the key and pulling all at once>>> Type in the security code for the auto locks on the driver door panel it should release the security device in the lock that holds on to fradulent keys (some models have this some dont) if this doesnt work , try unlocing and locking the door using the controls in the car and pulling on the key to try and remove, if the key wont trun any directions remove door panel locate the locking mechinism and use a flat head screw drivce to turn the lil dial o nthe back side to and try to remove the key.. If none of these work, pull really hard straight back dont bend key on lock as it will break off!! becarefull and goold luck.....
hope this will fix'ya
