Question about Western Digital WD Passport 250GB Portable Drive 250 GB Hard Drive
It may well be that settings in windows were not correct for your removable device.
This a pretty common problem and the fix is quite simple too.
connect the drive back up to your PC
in either windows explorer or my computer right click on the drive.
now properties and then hardware select your drive and then select Policies. Make sure that the "optimise for quick removal" is ticked
The performance option puts the files together in big pieces before moving them to the drive and if you remove the drive before it has had Chance to do that the the files never make it.
If you have to use the performance option then ALWAYS use the option to "safely remove hardware" which will hurry up an move the files because it knows you want the drive.
