I installed Malware and removed unwanted items.

Hard drive is still running non-stop. Under CPU the "Idle" runs at apx 98%, but nothing else stands out. Do you have more suggestions I can try??

    Your help is greatly appreciated!!

Hey there, if yyour hard drive doesn't stop, you have something running that probably should not be. I have two suggestions for ya. First go to

download and save the file to your desktop. Reboot in safe mode (hold down the F8 button as soon as the computer powers back on. Use the arror keys to select safe mode. Click yes to the box that appears when the desktop is loaded) Install the malwarebytes program you saved to your desktop, skip update beacuse you cannot access the internet. Run a "full scan" then when it is done click on clean or repair or remove the infections. I cannot remember what it says.

    Step two, go to

download the program and install. You don't need to be in safe mode for this. Run the power clean feature. It will clean trash files as well as your registry.. Both these programs are very good, reputable and the best part is they are free, no credit card needed. Let me know how you do

    did you run the cleaner?

you know, I'm just trying to help you out, I don't really see any
reason to give me a bad rating. Sometimes there are a lot of steps to
get a computer running correctly and since I am not sure as to what you
have on your machine I always need to start with the basic stuff first. Another thing for you to try that may be slightly complicated at first would be to download and install the COMODO firewall from the same people as the cleaner. You can find it here .
Install it and when right click the icon in the toolbar and set it to high and make sure animated popups are allowed. Restart your computer and every little thing that is trying to access memory or another program will pop up. Most of these are going to be legit but the one that is eating up your resources will show up. You can google each one to see what it is, just takes patience. Also, once you identify the program as good, select remember this answer or "treat this as a trusted program" in the little popup in the bottom. Let me know what you find out.

Yes have a program that monitors Hard Drive Status/System Mechanic Pro,, my hard drive is a SAMSUNG SV 1203N serial # :S01CJ10WB37279 My Drive Attribute status are all good except for the ''...

Drive monitoring software like yours and the SMART monitoring built into many motherboards keep watch on several hard drive parameters. When something goes out of a preset range you get an error message telling you about it. While this doesn't mean your drive is going to fail soon, it's a good idea to back up important data (pictures, documents, etc.) now before something goes wrong and you can't access it.

Actually, backing up is a good idea in any case, but many people don't. Not a good idea when you may have things like family photos stored that can't be replaced. When a hard drive fails, it's expensive and not always successful to try recovering the data.

If you don't already have a system restore disc, this would be a good time to make one. Some computers come with a utility program that lets you make restore discs. You can also use software like Norton Ghost. Then if your hard drive does eventually fail, you'll be able to restore your system after installing a new drive.

You can also get a new drive now before anything goes wrong on the current one. Use Norton Ghost or similar software to copy the drive image to your new one, replace the old one, and you won't have to deal with the headaches of restoring your system after a drive failure.

Need to recover files from WD drive that was attached to IMAC when it shut down from Kernal panic. Files were there, some files remain. The files that remain are the ones on the drive before I downloaded...

First thing first - STOP using your WD drive immediately! If you continue using the disk drive, you significantly increase the risk that the files you want to recover will be lost forever due to overwritten. Every new file or action will take up more "free space" and reduce your chances of retrieving your deleted files from WD. So really, you need to act quickly.

The next step - get a good Mac HDD data recovery software to retrieve the data as most as possible.

Windows Explorer is not responding

Regcure can fix minor ptoblem to the registry , but it is not of any use against virused or problems caused from spyware.

If you reinstalled windows, Update Internet Explorer, Internet Explorer 6 normally crashes: Internet Explorer: Get It Now.

If IE keeps crashing, use Firefox, it is much better.
