I would like to know the physical location, have to buy a new adapter. Have HP Touchsmart IQ771 and Keeps losing internet connection. Vista keeps telling me to, "plug in local network cable", Tech guys from PC World keep telling me it is a Vista problem, i have reinstalled Vista 4 times over the last 2 days, now Vista says there is no network adapter so i think it is broken. Have updated all drivers from HP and reinstalled them from within Vista. Have had this problem for 7 months now and pulling my hair out.

Hp 300-1003 wireless not pick up the network but says it working properly

I use a nano (very small) Edimax external USB wifi adapter and it works good. It comes with its software and it cost less than $15. It is available at Newegg.com and eBay.com.
The Edimax software can check the signal strength and its quality.

Hp TouchSmart 310 wont start, power light flashes

The LED light has now turned into a diagnostic light. The fault is a bad Power Supply.
Replacing it however, is easier said than done.

I don't know what exact model of the Touchsmart 310 series you have.
(Examples such as TouchSmart 310-1000Z, or 310-1125f, or 310-1155y, etc.)

The TouchSmart 310 series of All-In-One desktop computers, has a battery, and an AC adapter, (Charger), for power.

Test the battery with a multimeter set to DC Voltage.
{Symbol is a dotted line over a solid line. If there is more than one DC Voltage setting, set it to 0 - 50 Volts }

Should be close to 18.5 Volts (DC)

Battery is low?
Check the AC adapter (Charger)

The middle metal cylinder of the plug that goes into the computer, is Positive.
The outside metal shell which surrounds it, is Negative.
Again, 18.5 Volts (DC)

Check both then post back in a Comment.

I have a HP touchsmart iq771 and the fan has failed, i cannot find one anywhere and even hp cant seem to help me, as the only number that is on PC they cant match! (they sent through wrong fan)! I find it...

You could try Ebay or the like, for a fan that looks the same to you.

Unfortunately that is why I prefer to build computers myself from components.
Custom computers.

Just because of this fan issue you may need to buy a new computer, that is if you can't find a new fan. State this to HP, are they willing to provide you with a new computer.

Take Care!

Not to my knowledge, The original they used to build this is mounted flat to the motherboard due to space requirements. No other I know of will work without a custom made adapter.

The lightning bolt on my hp touchsmart tx2 flashes

that means your laptop has no power so your battery is dead which would explain why it shut down on you, and that means its not charging so it would either be the adapter or the port on your laptop
