Question about Sharp 56DR650 56" Rear Projection HDTV
Replace your color wheel! So glad I did this, fixed the TV and the wife is very happy! Go to Encompass Parts http://www.encompassparts.com/ Where it says login, click on the words "guest login" and you won't have to register. Click on US Dollars at the next window. In the next window, copy paste this part number - 3250701500 and click the little magnifying glass. Don't worry about model number. Checkout and yours will be on the way. Mine was $102 shipped! The brand is Vivatek and it works perfectly! Thank you to whoever posted this! We found another for over $189 but decided to try this. I kept pulling the old one out, cleaning and oiling which would last only a few weeks and got tired of it. Anyone who needs help installing please email me at email@example.com and I will help you out. The TV is worth repairing. We plan to get a spare in case we need it. Hope this one lasts longer than the original wheel.

I did find it for about $10 but havnt replaced it...t.v is fine..better then before...my origanal problem was i couldnt turn contrast up on tv,about an 11 out of 6o...if i went go higher then 11 i would get what they called polarazation..i would get this glow on certain colors...a bright greenish glow...then after a while (while contrast setting was on 11) color started to flicker...after about 5 minutes of flickering it would settle on a blury picture mostley green and blue...i took out color wheel by following great intructions that i googled and got off this site...followed them to a tee...after i put it all back together t.v turned on and was fine..all settings are normal now...contrast is way up...color is excellent...i was told by a friend who has his own shop that the color wheel has to spein at a certain rpm....a dirty color wheel with dust in motor will cause it to run at lower rpm causing numerous problems..as for little glass in front of color whell..i noticed it was split down middle when i went to clean it...i put it back in slot and it stayed in place...i inquired about it but never purchased it..t.v is ok..why fix it if aint broke...hope this helps
