Replace your color wheel! So glad I did this, fixed the TV and the wife is very happy! Go to Encompass Parts http://www.encompassparts.com/ Where it says login, click on the words "guest login" and you won't have to register. Click on US Dollars at the next window. In the next window, copy paste this part number - 3250701500 and click the little magnifying glass. Don't worry about model number. Checkout and yours will be on the way. Mine was $102 shipped! The brand is Vivatek and it works perfectly! Thank you to whoever posted this! We found another for over $189 but decided to try this. I kept pulling the old one out, cleaning and oiling which would last only a few weeks and got tired of it. Anyone who needs help installing please email me at scott.d.krieger@gmail.com and I will help you out. The TV is worth repairing. We plan to get a spare in case we need it. Hope this one lasts longer than the original wheel.

I did find it for about $10 but havnt replaced it...t.v is fine..better then before...my origanal problem was i couldnt turn contrast up on tv,about an 11 out of 6o...if i went go higher then 11 i would get what they called polarazation..i would get this glow on certain colors...a bright greenish glow...then after a while (while contrast setting was on 11) color started to flicker...after about 5 minutes of flickering it would settle on a blury picture mostley green and blue...i took out color wheel by following great intructions that i googled and got off this site...followed them to a tee...after i put it all back together t.v turned on and was fine..all settings are normal now...contrast is way up...color is excellent...i was told by a friend who has his own shop that the color wheel has to spein at a certain rpm....a dirty color wheel with dust in motor will cause it to run at lower rpm causing numerous problems..as for little glass in front of color whell..i noticed it was split down middle when i went to clean it...i put it back in slot and it stayed in place...i inquired about it but never purchased it..t.v is ok..why fix it if aint broke...hope this helps

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

My Smasung projection TV keeps flickering, also every hour or so the screen turns to a green flicker. I have to unplug the power cord and that temporarily fixes the problem. How do I stop the flickering?

The tv colors wheel is dying, replaced the tv colors wheel, will solved this problems.Hire a tv Tech.to change the tv colors wheel,it pretty hard to change the colors wheel in this tv.Because u require take out many machanical parts before u even can come to the tv colors wheel itself to change it.

My InFocus 4805 SP projector is showing just black and white

If you have any video at all and it's only Black and white there is a 99.99% chance that your Color Wheel has lost all of it's glass color filters.
You can confirm this by removing the lamp. then look straight into the projector where the lamp was and you should see the color wheel of colored glass segments (Red, Green and blue) I believe you won't see them because they came off of the wheel.
Also if you lift up the projector and turn it around in various angles and you will hear the small pieces of broken glass from the color wheel.
Unfortunately you will need to take it to an authorized service center for repair. Be prepared to spend upwards of $300 for the repair.

Cheers

TV POWERS UP AND THEM POWERS DOWN- HUMMING NOISE NO VOLUME

Replace the lamp to start. If that doesn't solve it then it might be the color wheel. You can't do that yourself.

Green picture

i dont think it the color wheel - to make it green the glass would of come off and the tv would be vibrating badly. to check pull the lamp out and with a flash light look at the color wheel -
you most likely got a surge that glitched the eeprom - you will need the service remote to adj the white balance
thanks

I have the optoma h31 projector and the color turned purple. We assumed it was the bulb and put a new one in. The color is now still not right and the picture sorta bounces

I had a similar issue with my EP739, the problem would start after about 3 or 4 minutes and then get gradually worse and worse..
The most strange thing I noticed was that white looked fine. And if you opened the configuration menu in the projector it appeared that blue was labeled green and green blue..
Some sites suggested cleaning the machine of dust, which I tried using a can of compressed air... This did not fix the problem at first.. but when I had it apart I studied the colour wheel for a little while and wondered if some how the machine was synching to it incorrectly somehow.. So I blew out the colour wheel location sensor (It's kind of obvious being the only component mechanically connected to the color wheel. Much to my delight, this fixed the problem...

So my solution to the flickering / colour fading / colour swapping issue with DLP projectors was to clean out the dust from the colour wheel location sensor..

In fact, if I did it again, I would ONLY clean the sensor, and leave the rest of the dust alone. Blowing dust around has the potential to cause other issues, especially if it winds up inside the optics system.

There are other possibilities as well. Look at the front of the green projector tube and see if it looks like the cooling liquid has been leaking out or if it is not clear all across the screen.
