My brand new fridgidaire dishwasher (professional) is continually running, even when open. it's pumping the water out with no water inside. I have killed the power to it in order to reset.

Is there water in it ? Frgidaire as all end with the drain pump running about 5 min give or take. If the pump is continuing to run and not stopping at the end of the cycle , could be a timer or control issue. Most all functions are timed for a specific amount of time.
there is a water level sensor in the bottom of the machine if this is faulty and stays on, this will indicate to the pump there is water still in the machine. I would check this sensor it might be blocked with debris and has blocked in the closed position. that woudl be the best start for this issue.
This depends what you mean by "runs". If the dishwasher continues with a wash cycle - i.e. circulating water - with the door open, the simple answer is that you have a defective door microswitch.
However, I suspect what you perceive to be the dishwasher running, is actually the drain pump running continuously. This happens when the anti-flood protection system has been activated and continues even when the door is opened. The simplest way to check is to open the door (while it's "running") and pour some water into the tub. If the water drains away immediately, this shows the drain pump is running and the anti-flood protection has been activated.
This may be due to water having leaked into the base of the dishwasher, but it could be as simple as a stuck or defective float-switch.
Please try the simple test above then post back for further assistance. If you're planning to investigate or repair this yourself, you're going to need a Torx T20 screwdriver and a multi-meter would be useful as well.
Check the water supply line for kinks, check bottom strainer/drain inside to remove particles/trash blocking water from exiting to pump washer motor, be sure no items block rotation of washer heads. Good luck.
Have you checked there is no water in the base of the machine (there is probably a float with a microswitch there).
If there is any water at all in the base the float rises and triggers the microswitch turning on the drain pump. Does the drain pump run even with the door open?
You could try tilting the dishwasher 45 degrees and see if any water comes out
try this test:
add water (one gallon each try) by hand fill and try the cycle again. Continue until light goes out. If light never goes out, then faulty water level switch or wiring. If light goes out, then water inlet valve is stopping too early, but need more info to determine why. Try this test: open door and find the door switch. Then activate the switch and turn on machine to watch water come in. It should not just "dribble" in; try to determine if water pressure is sufficient coming in.
