Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Try creating a CD\DVD of Ubuntu and using the Live boot option. It should load as a non install and let you trouble shoot from there. gl

Touchpad stops working under ubuntu 12.0.4

Sounds like they need to tweek the driver a bit for your particular touchpad model. You should visit their forums and start a thread discussing your problem. Someone will help you and more than likely it's happened to others and they will eventually fix the problem with a future driver update.

I can't get a wifi connection on linux ubuntu 10.10

Ubuntu 10.10 for some reason made WIFI stop working you need to connect to the moden or router with a network cable and let ubuntu update itself. Best thing would be to update to ubuntu 11.04 which is the latest version.
Best to you!

Sounds like you've got a problem with your hard drive.

An easy way to troubleshoot your system would be to (ON A WORKING COMPUTER)

Download and burn a copy of UBUNTU

Boot the non-working computer with the UBUNTU disc, check the top under PLACES to see if your hard drive and files appear.

If you need more help, let me know. There's a lot to cover.

IAM USUNG UBUNTU ON MY P4 SYSTEM THERE IS NO SOUND IN MY SYSTEM AND NO AUDIO PLEASE HELP

You will need to go to the manufacturers site and see if there is an update for Linux driver for Debian kernel build.
If you do (sudo apt-get updates) or use the update manager in the "application" to see if it an alsa sound card update.
The manufacturer is responsible for driver updates for OS driver updates.
Some sound cards and other devices may not have developed the drivers for your Linux box at this time.

Wireless Card not working in Ubuntu 9

I had the same problem on my Acer Aspire 5920G, I have Intel wi-fi tho. Kernel update fixed it, but be careful when updating kernels. The network part of it can be updated separately. Check ubuntu forums about how to update kernel.

If you are getting sound through your speakers then the sound system is working. If you lose the sound when using the headphone jack then either the headphone jack is faulty or your headphones are...

Although, rarely, you may find that opening the alsamixer from the terminal will fix the problem as some versions of Ubuntu have a special volume control for the headphone jack....

You will need to open the mixer as the Administrator
Type
su aslamixer

If this helped please vote kindly

Sound not operating in R60 thinkpad with ubuntu desktop 9.x.x

Make sure you have the most up to date drivers and that the unit is installed properly. Has this card ever produced sound? Did it stop working all of a sudden? If so then you can try to roll back the drivers to a previous version. If nothing works then uninstall the device and optain the installation drivers from the manufacturer and attempt to reinstall the device over again.

No sound from system with Ensoniq AudioPCI running XUBUNTU 9.04

There is but one cure for this problem I am afraid and that is install compatible drivers for Ubuntu and your sound card ,windows and Ubuntu are two diffrent languages completely ..
Most manufacturers realise that Linux/ubuntu is popular medie now and do have downloadable drivers on their site , however if you cant find rthem dont despair there are many quick savy programers who use ubuntu and they write their own programs to solve such problems . many of these you will find on the linux site or click on add on's in your menu to go to the ubuntu site for recent updates and downloads the cure to the problem is and only is compatible program drivers .. or a new card with same available ... Apparently this bug has been fixed already, you can apply patch if you're advanced user or just simply update to newer Ubuntu (e.g. new 9.04, out yesterday). More info here:
