Question about Computers & Internet

3 Answers

I have an IBM (Lenovo) Thinkpad T60p, and recently it developed trouble printing to Bluetooth printer HP Deskjet 460. The trouble is best described as follows: 1. I open the Bluetooth printer properties (I have done everything needed to set up my Bluetooth printer). 2. I open the printer queue (doubleclick on the printer icon). 3. In the printer properties window I click on the "print test page" button. 4. I observe the printer queue window, and notice that the test page gets gueued, and after a short time it gets deleted (as if the print completed successfully). However, no data arrives at the printer! Regards, bostjanv

    Hello,
Regarding your advice: Opened HP Deskjet 460 Series (Copy 2) Properties --> Advanced; there is no "uninstall" option; just a "New Driver" Button; I used this and followed instructions; however, the situation is unchanged (test page will still not print)

    Hi,
I have updated the driver, and there is no improvement; the data seems to disappear into a black hole.

    Hi,
I did update the driver, and there was no improvement. The printer queue continues to behave as if printing is taking place, but no data reaches the printer.

    Hi,
I have tried the following things:
    1) I have a Bluetooth mouse on my laptop. I disabled it -- it did not improve the situation.
    2) I disabled Bluetooth on my cellphone -- likewise no improvement.
    3) I unpaired and repaired my printer -- likewise no improvement.
    4) I undocked my laptop -- no improvement

Try stopping then starting the Print Spooler service on your machine. To do this, click the "Start" button, select "Run". In the textbox, type "services.msc" to open the Services management console. Find the Print Spooler service, stop it, then start it again. See if this helps.

If this did not work, check the information at the following page, which might help you resolve the problem:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/fastFaqLiteDocument?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=18703&docname=c00221850

As this problem could also happen due to bad communication, I found here some interesting information:

1. make sure the computer and printer are paired
2. make sure you have no other bluetooth devices in your house running such as cell phones and the like.
3. The issue has to be within and something has changed have your tried re pairing the devices.

thanks

hope this helps

the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Where can I download for free a missing manual for IBM ThinkPad T60

Hello visit the lenovo support site:

http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/default.page?selector=expand

Lenovo has the support for ibm products.
The ibm site is just for servers.

Select model number in search for drivers.

Or install this software:

System Update helps you reduce the time, effort, and expense required to support and maintain the latest drivers, BIOS, and other applications for Think or Lenovo systems. It enables you to get the latest updates from the Lenovo support site.

I just installed 2 gigs of RAM into my Thinkpad T60p and the BIOS does not see it. Yikes! what can be wrong. It seems to be located correctly.

One of the RAM module may be incompatible. Are both RAM modules the same type and make?
Try inserting 1Gb RAM module at a time to see if the BIOS can see the RAM.

Not able to read dvd's and able to read cd's model lenovo 510i

While I was not able to find that specific model of laptop, I was able to locate the CDRW Bay and based on my research this bay only supports the following models. Though it may look the same and even have the same interface, if it is not in the supported model list, it will not properly function.

Supported Media Types:
  • CD-ROM
  • CD-R
  • CD-RW
  • DVD-ROM
Compatible with:
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad R50
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad R50e
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad R50p
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad R51
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad R51e
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad R52
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad T40
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad T40p
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad T41
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad T41p
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad T42
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad T42p
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad T43
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad T43p
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad T60
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad T60p
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad X40 series (X series media slice or Ultrabase required)
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad X41 series (X series media slice or Ultrabase required)
  • IBM Lenovo ThinkPad T30, X30, X31, R40 series (2366, 2367, 2884, 2885, 2681, 2682, 2683, 2896, 2722, 2723, 2724, 2897, 2672, 2673 - when installed with the optional ThinkPad Slim Drive adapter for the UltraBay 2000 or X series UltraBase or Media Slice)

If you see your model in this list comment back and we can move forward with getting your issue resolved.

Good Luck,

My ibm is lenovo t60 and i need bios password

I would tell you to clear the CMOS. But, on those laptops, they soldered a chip on dedicated to saving password information, etc.. You'll have to replace the motherboard. If the pc's functioning fine, you can use the "ThinkVantage" button to restore the factory settings.

Red Green stripes on IBM Thnikpad T60p tft monitor

Those are dead pixels if you want to get rid of them you will probably need to replace the monitor. They will probably charge you an arm and a leg to replace it so you might get a second quote from Computer repair shop.
